What Jesus did in Spiritual Warfare

God the Father sent Jesus into the world for a reason. The Bible says in 1 John 3:8, “For this purpose was the Son of God manifest, to destroy the works of the evil one.” Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. One demon sensed this when he cried out through a man in the synagogue, “Have you come to destroy us?” (Mark 1).

In order to overcome the devil’s works, Jesus needed to overcome severe temptation. This he did firstly in the wilderness at the end of his 40 day fast. He did it by saying, “It is written” and following it up with a quotation from God’s Word.

Neglecting this vital area will cost you more than you can possibly calculate, especially you or your immediate forefathers have been involved in any kind of idolatry or occultism.

There are erroneous ideas about spiritual warfare that lead people to shout at all kinds of fallen angels they imagine to be binding countries, even while they themselves are blinded and deafened to the voice of God in their own lives.

“… knowing that you were called for this purpose, that you may inherit a blessing. ” (1 Peter 3:9)

It is really important to God that YOU inherit a blessing! Its not something to be ashamed of or to apologize for. On the contrary, it is central to God’s purpose for your life! The Scriptures declare it, and so when you as one of God’s people are blessed, then God Himself is glorified.

God wants you to be blessed, even in ways you have never known before. We can get more of an idea of God’s purpose when we consider one of the main reasons Jesus died on the cross and suffered for us.

PRAYERS TO REFRAIN FROM EVIL SPEAKING

Lord, you said, "What comes out of his mouth, this defiles a man." (Matt. 15:11)

Lord, I pray that I treasure good things, not evil things, in my heart, and that out of the abundance of the good things in my heart my mouth speaks. (Mt. 12:35)

I pray that I speak evil of no man. (Titus 3:2)

DON'T SLANDER

Lord, you told me not to go up and down as a talebearer, gossip or slanderer among the people. (Lev. 19:16)

The blessing of the Lord makes me rich, and he adds no sorrow to it. Pr 10.22

I will not be a lazy sluggard.

A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children. Pr 14.22

In all labour there is profit – but idle chatter leads only to poverty. I get down to business. Pr 14.23

I am not lagging in diligence. I am fervent in spirit, serving the Lord. Rom 12.11

Diligence is my precious possession. Pr 12.27

Diligent hands make me rich. Pr 10.4

The hand of the diligent will rule, but the slothful will be put to forced labour. I will be diligent and rule.

Confession:
I remember the LORD my God.
The Lord my God gives me power to get wealth.
The wealth I get is for the establishing of God’s covenant.

Prayer:
Thank you Lord for all things. I remember you, and all you have done for me. Thanks for giving me power to get wealth. Let your covenant be established through my life also, and the lives of my friends and associates.

The Disciple,—Sometimes this question is asked, “Since God is fully aware of our needs, and knows how to supply them in the best way, not for the good only but for the evil, how should we pray to Him about them? Whether our necessities be temporal or spiritual, can we by our prayers alter the will of God?”

The Master,—1. Those who ask such a question show clearly that they do not know what prayer is. They have not lived a prayerful life, or they would know that prayer to God is not a form of begging.
