What is our end goal: our happiness or to serve God unconditionally?

How do you react when God seems to deny you what you ask in prayer, at least for the time being, and you do not understand why? What if you prayed for a long time and it still did not get answered yet? Does that make you change the way you think or feel about God? Does it makes you feel dissapointed or maybe offended with God? Does it affect the quality of your relationship and intimacy with God? Believe me, it did affect mine in the past, and it took me 4 years and a LOT of pain of mind and soul to get to understand what I am writing to you about below.

Do we Christians believe our own gospel?

When a Muslim enquirer was first told of the Good News of Jesus Christ he asked, ‘How long has this message been around?’

‘About two thousand years,’ replied the messenger.

‘If that is so why haven’t I heard of it before? There must be no Christians in my country.’

‘Yes, there are,’ said his informant.

‘Well then, there are certainly none in this city.’

‘Yes, there are,’ was the reply.

‘How is this possible? The only reason I can think of is that you Christians do not believe your own Gospel.’

– from “Mosques and Miracles” – by Stuart Robinson, Edition 2, page 316.

Your Money Perish with you!

Simon was a sorcerer who had impressed the people of Samaria with his occultic powers for a long time. But when he heard the gospel and saw the power of God moving through Philip the evangelist – especially in miraculous healing and deliverance from evil spirits, he believed and was baptized. I wish the story had ended there concerning this man, but it does not.

Prayers for Spiritual Fullness

Lord, fill us with your Spirit just like you want us to be! (Ephesians 5:18)

Lord, bless us with hunger and thirst for righteousness, and fill us (Matt. 5:6)

Grant us, O God, according to the riches of Your glory, to be strengthened with might through Your Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith. (Eph. 3:16-17)

Prayers about Speech

Father, I pray that I let no corrupt word proceed out of my mouth, but only such a word as is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. (Eph. 4:29)

Father, I pray that I speak evil of no man. (Tit. 3:2)

Father, I pray that I restrain my lips. Pr 10.19

I pray Lord that I be continually filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in my heart to you Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Eph.

Bible-based Prayers for Spiritual Sight

(These prayers can easily be modified on the fly to be a prayer for a loved one or a group of people, as the need requires).

Lord, you declared that you came to proclaim recovery of sight to the blind. (Luke 4:18). Proclaim recovery of sight to MY (inner) eyes, the eyes of my heart!

You sent Paul your servant to “to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.” (Acts 26:18).

Messages For the World’s People

This section of christian-faith.com is being opened to create a forum in which hopefully communication can happen with people who are not convinced about Jesus Christ; people who are looking in other directions for meaning, satisfaction and purpose in their lives.

I hope to be able to address some of the thinking that is out there. I’m sure many non-Christians will also be able to help me understand better their points of view through this section.

Jesus does not give Himself out cheaply

Mat 15:21 Then Jesus went out from there and departed to the region of Tyre and Sidon.
Mat 15:22 And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.”
Mat 15:23 But He answered her not a word.

Dead Traditions that hinder us

While God has some traditions for the church that Paul taught, according to 2 Thessalonians 3:6, there are MANY traditions in the way most churches operate and do things that actually hinder God’s purposes.

If you read something in the New Testament and it contradicts what you think you know about the way God’s people are supposed to operate, you can be sure that your thinking has been influenced by dead tradition.

What does God want from us? In a word, LOVE. He wants our hearts. He wants us to love Him with all our hearts. This means, that we will give him our total focus.
