One of the sad parts of having worked with youth for many years in the church is having seen some who were enthusiastic and truly on fire for the Lord while in the youth group, then, after growing up and leaving home, also leave the church and the faith. As long as they had the support and encouragement of other Christians while in the youth group, they truly lived for the Lord. But after leaving home and being on their own, they wanted exactly that, to be on their own, apart from the church and God.
There is a time for everything, we are told in God’s Word (Eccl. 3:1). What many tend to forget is that everything means every thing, including evil. Yes, according to Scripture, there is a time when God allows even evil to hold sway.
“The Lord has made everything for its purpose, even the wicked for the day of trouble” (Prov. 16:4 RSV).
I was surprised recently when the Holy Spirit drew my attention to the words “the bottomless pit”–surprised because I had not been thinking of anything remotely connected to this phrase. Why had he brought it to my mind? I knew this description was used in the book of Revelation, so I opened my Bible and concordance and began looking into the matter. This is what I found.

So you know that the Lord has called you to serve Him. You know He has anointed you. But you want to know where to start in your ministry and how to see that anointing grow. You may wonder why not everyone who is indwelt by the same Holy Spirit see amazing things happening in their lives.
