What I Seek

One thing I have desired of the LORD, that will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in His temple. Ps 27.4

I seek the Lord with rejoicing! 1Chr 16.10

I seek the face of the LORD always. 1Chr 16.11

I seek the Lord and I lack no good thing. Ps 34.10

I seek the LORD my God with all my heart and all my soul, and will find Him. Deut 4.29

I seek the Lord with yearning and longing. Ps 63.1

I seek the name of the Lord.

I enter God’s rest and cease from my own human labours, just as God rested from those labours peculiarly His own. Heb 4.10 Jn 5.17

Jesus Christ’s Example:

The Son is able to do nothing from Himself – of his own accord; but he is able to do only what He sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does is what the Son does in the same way. As I live like Jesus, I do nothing from myself but only what I see the Lord doing.

Confessions of What I Do

I go into all the world and make disciples, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey all the commandments of Christ.

Things to Meditate Deeply Upon

I am commanded by God to be continually filled with the Holy Spirit.(Ephesians 5:18)

I reckon I’m really dead to sin. (Romans 6:11)

Christ lives in me. (Galatians 2:20)

I am the righteousness of God in Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:21)

My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in me, whom I have from God. (1 Corinthians 6:19)

I am an ambassador for Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:20)

I overcome the devil by the blood of the Lamb, and by the Word of my testimony, and I do not love my life to the death.

Ministering for the Glory of God

I pray that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether be life or by death. (Philippians 1:20)

I pray that I will be a good and faithful servant of Christ, faithful over a few things and one day ruler over many. (Matthew 25:21)

I pray that I will be willing to carry around in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in my mortal flesh (2 Corinthians 4:10). For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

The Gifts of the Spirit

We believe in the present day operation of the nine supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit, as recorded in 1 Cor 12. We also believe in the ministry gifts of Christ, as recorded in Eph 4:11-13.

Introduction
It is amazing how difficult some jobs are without the proper tools. Can you imagine how difficult it would be to cut a piece of timber if you didn’t have a saw? Spiritual gifts are the tools that God has given us to enable us to be more effective in accomplishing the task of working with Him to build His church.

Sanctification

Sanctification is an act of separation from that which is evil, and of dedication unto God. WE
BELIEVE it is the glorious provision for every believer in Christ to be made pure in heart and wholly
sanctified, through the operation of the Holy Spirit, by the blood of Jesus and the Word of God –
John 17:15-19; Acts 15:8,9; 1 Thess 4:3,4; Heb 2:11; 1 Thess 5:23,24; Heb 10:16-19; Rom 12:1-2.

The Lord’s Supper

WE BELIEVE the Lord’s Supper, consisting of the elements of bread and the fruit of the vine, is the symbol expressing our sharing the divine nature of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1:4); a memorial of His sufferings and death (1 Cor 11:26); and a prophecy of His second coming (1 Cor 11:26), and is enjoined upon all believers “until He comes”. Luke 22:15-20; Matt 26:26-28; Acts 20:7.

Introduction

As we saw in our last lesson, an ordinance is the outward sign of an inward work. We believe Jesus only established two ordinances for us to observe.

WE BELIEVE that baptism, by single immersion, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, is enjoined upon all who have repented and have believed in Christ as Saviour and Lord, and that it is symbolic of our identification with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection – Matt. 28:19,20; Acts. 10:47,28; 2:38,39; Rom. 6:4,5; Col. 2:12; Mark 16:16.

Introduction

An ordinance is an outward sign of an inward work. The word ordinance literally means “something commanded and enforced by the proper authority”.

WE BELIEVE the Church is the body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of her great commission. Each believer, born of the Spirit is an integral part of the General Assembly and Church of the First-born which are written in heaven – (Eph 1:22,23; 2:22; Heb 12:23).

Introduction.

The average person’s response to the word ‘church’, is steeples, stained glass windows, and a huge pipe organ.
