The Fall of Man

WE BELIEVE: that man was created by God by a specific, immediate act and his image and likeness morally upright and perfect, but fell by voluntary transgression. Consequently, all men are separated from original righteousness, being depraved and without spiritual life. Gen 1:26-31; 3:1-7; Romans 5:12-21.

Introduction.

The first three chapters of Genesis give us a detailed account of the creation of this world and the creation of man. What is quite clear is the perfection of God’s creation; everything was good.

The Devil

WE BELIEVE in the personality of the devil who, by his influence, brought about the downfall of man, and now seeks to destroy the faith of every believer in the Lord Jesus Christ – Gen 3:1-15; Matt 4:1-11; Luke 4:1-13; James 4:7; 1 Peter 5:8; John 13:2.

Introduction

Apart from the Godhead, no other personality is given as much coverage in the Bible as the devil. Whereas it is important not to give the devil undue prominence, the Scriptures also tell us not to be “ignorant of his devices” (2 Cor 2:11).

The Holy Scriptures

WE BELIEVE in the verbal, plenary inspiration of the Holy Scriptures, namely the Old and the New Testaments in their original writings. All scriptures is given by inspiration of God and is infallible, inerrantly revealing the will of God, concerning us all, in all things necessary to our salvation, and is absolutely supreme and sufficient authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

The Holy Spirit

WE BELIEVE in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the triune Godhead, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, and is ever present and active in the work of convicting and regenerating the sinner, and sanctifying and guiding the believer into all truth. John 14:26; John 16:8-11; 1 Peter 1:2; Rom 8:14.

Introduction

So many people sincerely think of the Holy Spirit as a mere influence or power. They fail to see Him as a person with individual characteristics.

Kings AND Priests

“To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.” (Revelation 1:5,6)

Jesus not only washed us from our sins in His own blood, but He has also lifted us up to two very important offices. The believer has the potential to operate as BOTH a king and a priest to God. One of the fundamental revelations of the Reformation was ‘the priesthood of all believers’ but I believe the Reformers themselves had a very limited idea of what this means.

SINNER'S PRAYER FOR SALVATION

"Dear Heavenly Father, I come to You in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ. I come a sinner and I now renounce all of my sins. I confess the sins of ……….. (name those sins) and I utterly renounce those sins in the name of Jesus Christ. I absolutely turn from them.
