Testimony – Baptism in the Holy Spirit – Mike Jones

I am a analytical type person. Skeptical when it comes to things of faith (unfortunately). I was raised as a catholic (although we rarely attended church). I met my wife about five years ago (in April) and started going to her Pentecostal church. It was uncomfortable at first when they had altar calls (where they did call on us to pray for Jesus’ intervention), because of the strange things that I observed. Mainly the crying and yelling perplexed me (such a deviation from my tranquil and ordered services of Catholic service). And the length!

Trusting in Money and Suppressing the Holy Spirit’s Gifts

Few, if any, of my friends who have been around the pentecostal churches for the last 20 years or so would deny that we have witnessed a change of emphasis in the preaching and ministry.

What we see is the exaltation of the power of finance, and what amounts to a suppression of the power of the Holy Spirit, at least in many of the ways He was formerly free to move in the churches.

In most pentecostal congregations, who are following the “mega” ministries of this world, we hear again and again on the importance of giving money to the local church, for “kingdom purposes” yada yada yada, bu

Emptiness – an important key to fullness

Its a principle that I have not emphasized enough on this website: but the truth is, God is looking for EMPTY vessels to fill. “Blessed are the poor in spirit [the spiritual beggars], for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.” (Matthew 5:3).

No matter how much we have received from God, God must remain our source of initiative, life and power. We cannot trust in what we have received already – be it money, anointing, connections, knowledge, income streams, or people. If we trust in those things, we may lose them.

The Betrayal of Pentecost – by Michael Edds

Acts 1:8 declares, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”

The fulfillment of that prophetic word is recorded in Acts 2:4 when a rag-tag group of refugees met in an upstairs room in Jerusalem. It states, “And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Fight the Fight of Faith – do not be Shipwrecked

“This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare, having faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck, of whom are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I delivered to Satan that they may learn not to blaspheme.” (1 Timothy 1:18-20)

Do you believe in personal prophecy? The Apostle Paul did. He told Timothy that there were prophecies previously made concerning him. These prophecies were weapons by which Timothy could “wage the good warfare”.

The Ministry of Helps is for everyone

In this short article the case is made that every Christian is called at some level to operate in the ministry of helps. Let us not be high-minded. Whether we are also called to be apostles, or teachers, or workers of miracles, the Bible nowhere says, “Do all have the ministry of helps?

Spiritual Power – Getting the Right Stuff

Jesus said, "For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this
mountain, ‘Be removed and cast into the sea’ and does not doubt in his heart,
but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever
he says
." (Mark 11:23). It is amazing to have the power to have "what
you say" and this power is available to "whoever believes".

The operation of spiritual power requires faith. It may be faith in God, or
faith in something else linked to the power of the devil, but faith is always
