Brethren, Jesus Christ is Lord (master) of the Church. HE is the one who bought us all with His blood. (That is to say, by his death on the cross, He paid for your sins and purchased you and me out of the hand of the devil). It is now our duty to submit to Jesus Christ absolutely. HE is Lord of all.

Is the Bible all really easy to understand?

From time to time you will hear a preacher get up and say something like, “Actually the Bible is really easy to understand. Even a child can understand it. Its simple – we just make it complicated with our various theologies”.

This sounds good, and might encourage some to read the Bible – which would be a good thing, but there are a couple of important things we should observe.

Christian TV channels should NOT support false prophets and teachers

As someone who is involved in setting up Christian TV channels, I feel it is important to state that FINANCIAL REALITIES DO NOT TRUMP GOD’S COMMANDS NOT TO BE PARTNERS WITH FALSE PROPHETS/TEACHERS.

In other words, just because a certain preacher can raise a lot of money from people on TV and can pay handsomely for TV time, does not mean that it is God’s will that his or her message be heard on TV.

The influence of Television is Massive. True Christians SHOULD be aiming to get hold of this medium.

Having a big ministry is no guarantee of God’s approval

“For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?” (Jesus, Mark 8:36)

There is an unspoken belief in the pentecostal church today that if you have a big ministry, with lots of people looking to you for leadership, then God has blessed you, God is with you, and God is approving.

It is true that God’s blessing results in multiplication and growth ultimately. Thank God for all the true ministries that have grown with God’s blessing. But not all that grows is of God.

Cancer grows. But cancer is not of God.

Speaking in tongues is not a guarantee against deception

We should not feel safe about someone’s teaching just because they are pentecostal or charismatic. We need to realize that false teachers and prophets certainly exist in the charismatic church, and we need to tremble at the Word of God rather than before the personas who tell us how special and anointed they and their buddies are.
