The Warnings of the Book of Proverbs

Don’t join with violent men to rob people – if you do it will kill you.
(Proverbs 1:8-19)

If you keep refusing to listen to Wisdom, one day you will have calamity, terror will come upon you, and then it will be too late – Wisdom will just laugh at you and mock you. (Proverbs 1:24-28)

Turn away from Wisdom, and it will kill you. (Proverb 1:32).

Be complacent in your rebellion against God, and it will destroy you. (Proverbs 1:32)

Those who go to the house of an adulteress go to the house that leads down to death.
(Proverbs 1:18)

Go to a seductress/adulteress and you will suffer eternal loss, and you will never get back what you could have had. (Proverbs 1:19)

The curse of the Lord is on the house of the wicked. (Proverbs 3:33)

God scorns the scornful. (Proverbs 3:34)

Shame shall be the legacy of fools. (Proverbs 3:35). That means that if you rebel against God and don’t listen, the lasting results of your life will be shameful.

If you are wicked, that is, you love and choose evil, your way will be dark. Something you can’t see is going to bring you down for sure. (Proverbs 3:19)

Getting involved with an immoral woman will ultimately be a very bitter experience for you. (Proverbs 5:4)

Don’t think about immoral women, following after them will take you to hell. (Proverbs 5:6)

If you get involved with an immoral woman, the honor you could have had will go to someone else. (Proverbs 10:9) Not only that, but your life will be given to cruel oppressors, and people who don’t care about you will get all your wealth.

Getting involved in sexual immorality will cost you physical health, and cause you sadness. (Proverbs 5:11)

Your own sins will enslave you. You will be caught and you won’t be able to get out. (Proverbs 5:22)

Not being instructed in the right way will cause you to die. (Proverbs 5:23)

Folly will take you down the wrong paths in life. (Proverbs 5:23)

If you co-sign for someone else’s debts you can lose all you have. (Proverbs 6:1)

Laziness will make you poor sooner than you think. (Proverbs 6:6-11)

Disaster comes suddenly on wicked people, in such a way that things can NEVER be fixed. (Proverbs 6:15)

Getting involved with prostitutes ensures that you will become poor. Even lusting after their beauty (through pornography for example) will do that one way or the other (Proverbs 5:26).

Committing adultery with a woman will kill you, and destroy your soul (Proverbs 6:26, 32). It will give you wounds and dishonor.

Going after a seductress will kill you, even if you are a strong man (Proverbs 7:6-27)

Sin against Wisdom and you will hurt your own soul. To hate wisdom is to love death. (Proverbs 8:36)

Trying to correct wicked scoffers and mockers will only get you trouble, harm and shame. Leave them alone. (Proverbs 9:7-8)

Scoffing is going to cost you and no one else. (Proverbs 9:12)

Following foolishness, taking what isn’t yours and secret sin will kill you and take you to hell. But you don’t know that if you are a fool. (Proverbs 9:13-18)

If you behave foolishly you will make your mother sad. (10:1)

The money you gain by evildoing won’t help you at all. (10:2)

If you are wicked God will frustrate you (10:3)

Laziness will make you poor (10:4)

Sleeping through seasons of opportunity will cause you shame. (10:5)

Your reputation will stink if you are wicked. (10:6)

Fools who don’t control their tongue are going down fast. (10:8)

If you pervert your ways people are going to find out (10:9)

People who are tricky cause trouble. (10:10)

You ought to go through hardship and tough discipline if you lack understanding. (10:13)

Foolish talk will bring destruction into your life. (10:14)

Poverty hurts and destroys. (10:15)

When wicked people earn money they will spend it on sinful things. (10:16)

Refuse correction and you will go down the wrong path. (10:17)

Don’t spread slander or you will share the fate of fools because you have become one. (10:18)

Talking too much offends God. (10:19)

Be wicked and God won’t place too much value on you. (10:20)

Lack of wisdom will kill you if you are a rebel. (10:21)

What a wicked person fears is going to happen to him somehow. (10:24)

Natural disasters if and when they come will wipe out the wicked. (10:25)

Sending lazy people is going to cause you hassles. (10:26)

You will have a shorter life if you are wicked. (10:27)

Wicked people will ultimately be disappointed and lose all hope. (10:28)

Destruction will come to the workers of iniquity (10:29)

The wicked are ultimately not going to inhabit the earth (10:30)

The perverse tongue will be cut out (10:31)

God hates cheating (11:1).

Pride will lead to shame (11:2).

Wrong crooked behavior will destroy you if you are wicked. (11:3)

If you are righteous, all the money in the world won’t help you when God’s judgments come to you. (11:4)

Your own wickedness will bring you down. (11:5)

Unfaithful people will be caught by their own lust. (11:6)

When a wicked man dies, all hope for good things is finished. (11:7)

The wicked are going to have the trouble that the righteous escape from (11:8)

What hypocrites say has the potential to destroy. Watch out. (11:9)

If you are wicked, lots of people are going to be glad about it when you die. (11:10)

The bad things wicked people say can bring down an entire city. (11:11)

Despising your neighbour is something that fools do. (11:12)

If someone comes to you telling confidential stories, be sure they will reveal your confidential stories to others. (11:13)

Lack of good advice can bring lots of people down. (11:14)

Don’t make guarantees for someone you don’t know, or you will suffer. (11:15)

Ruthless men won’t pay you what they should (11:16)

Cruelty will eventually come back to affect you yourself. (11:17)

Wicked people won’t do work correctly for you. (11:18)

The pursuit of evil is the pursuit of death. (11:19)

If you are devious and do sick things then even God will find you loathsome. (11:20)

Making alliances will not protect you from God’s judgment if you are wicked. (11:21)

If you are wicked you can expect judgement and wrath from God. (11:23)

If you withhold more than you should it will lead to poverty. Be generous. (11:24)

If you stop people from getting the basic things they need they will curse you and you will be affected. (11:26)

If you seek evil, trouble will come to you. (11:27)

If you trust in your riches, you are going to fall. (11:28)

If you make trouble for your own family you won’t inherit good things from them. (11:29)

The only reward ungodly people and sinners get will be in this life. (11:31)

Hating correction makes you stupid. (12:1)

If you even intend to do something wicked, condemnation will come. (12:2)

Wickedness will destabilize your life. (12:3)

Choosing a wife of bad characted will undermine your life and make you weak and unable to stand up strongly in the midst of life’s pressures. (12:4)

The advice a wicked person gives you will be deceitful. So don’t trust it much. (12:5)

Anyone who tells you to lie in wait to hurt someone is a wicked person. (12:6)

Wicked people will be overthrown and be taken out. (12:7)

People who are sick and peverse will be despised. (12:8)

Wicked people are cruel even when they try to be kind. (12:10).

Seeking after fun and games proves you don’t understand what is really important. (12:11)

If you get something through evil then wicked men are going to want to take it off you anyway. (12:12)

If a wicked person says something wrong its going to cause him pain. (12:13)

Do the wrong thing to others and it will come back to you. (12:14)

Just because you think you are on the right way does not mean you are. Fools also think that. (12:15).
