I’m Isaac Snuffer, 15, and here is the story of how God has changed my life completely.

I was raised in a Christian home, attending a church where God moved greatly as young as 2, and saw God move all the time. During this time I gave my life to Christ, but did not fully understand the power of God nor even who he was. All I knew was the basics of the faith taught in the nursery classes at churches.

Before you read through this book, I want you to be aware. Aware that there is a God, aware that he has a son called Jesus Christ who died on the cross for our sins and know that I believe that Jesus Christ is Lord – my Lord and the Lord of all creation.

It sounds pretty serious and exactly what a religious person may say but most of what i’m about to write in this book is supernatural, based on all of the above beliefs.

I had not been to church for many years, but I had been feeling a strong calling from Jesus. I continued reading other people’s testimonies of Him, also the near death experiences of people who had actually gone to Heaven, and met Him. I could feel myself drawing closer to Him.

Sarah, my seven-year, old daughter had met a new friend in school, and her mother had invited us to church. I said, “Yes.” I was willing to do anything that would draw me closer to Him.

I can still clearly remember the very day/hour that my life changed from being destined for hell, to being eternally secure in the fact of knowing my new destiny for heaven. That day and hour was: Saturday, August 28th, 1987, approximately 11:00 p.m. Perhaps for some or most Christians, they cannot recall a specific day/hour. But for me, there was NO doubt as to when I became a part of the “family of God”—saved by His mercy and
grace at the age of 36 years old!

It was a Wednesday night August 2005 when I was rushed to emergency due to chronic abdominal pain and vomiting thought to be pancreatitis. My bowel had burst, my lungs collapsed and my kidney’s failed. I was wrapped in ice due to my soaring temperature of 42 degrees Celsius and no blood pressure. My body was pumped full of fluid which caused retention and my weight soared from 65-140kg within one week. It literally ripped me apart. The pain was so excruciating that my body started shutting down. I went blind and could not speak.

The exhaustion I felt was tremendous.

This is an actual letter written to a close friend of mine (Andy), whom I had worked with for two years in Darwin. I originally wrote this letter to explain the awesome life changing experience that I had. I think that this information is more important than how much money you have in the bank, how successful you are in life or how many friends you have. If I call this person a friend (Andy) and not tell him about this encounter, then I don’t think I can call myself a friend to this friend.

At the age of twenty-three I was riddled with fear and guilt. At that time I was unemployed and a university drop-out. I had no qualifications and no job prospects. I was dependent on alcohol to the extent that I could not function socially without being drunk since I used alcohol to cover up deep feelings of inferiority. Desperate to be accepted due to my poor self-image, I would immediately conform to whatever ideas and behaviour was in vogue amongst my friends.
