Audio Sermons and Resources

This is a rather undeveloped section of the site, but there are plenty of resources which touch on this subject but don’t treat it as if for pastors.

If you are a pastor and wish to share some teaching here, please send to michael at christian-faith.com so it can be considered for publication here. In this way, you can bless and help others with the valuable things you have learned.

Practical Christian Ministry

Walking in love is so important to God that He says you can have everything else, but if you miss this, your ministry is worthless and nothing you are doing will gain you any favor or merit with God. Listen to this:

“Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.
“And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

A Warning about Islam

If Islam is true, then Christianity is false and all who die as Christians will burn in hell forever along with all others who finally reject islam. If the Christianity of the Bible is true, however, then Islam is definitely false, and all muslims who die as muslims will burn in hell forever, having rejected the only Way by which their sins may be forgiven. The issue is therefore serious, since it involves the beliefs of about 1/3 or more of the world’s population.

Political and Social Issues

Christians have all kinds of different political beliefs and persuasions today. Christians also adopt different views on many different social issues.

These things can be discussed, but it is not wise for anyone to insist that it is necessary to hold certain political views in order to be right with God.

In many ways, these issues are secondary to the Christian, because Jesus said, “My Kingdom is not of this world”.

Apostasy in the Church

There is plenty of evidence that the spirit of harlotry has gained a strong foothold and in some cases virtually taken over many of the leading denominations in the western world today, including sadly, many pentecostal/charismatic churches. This is tragic because the pentecostal church was entrusted with tremendous understanding of the plan of God for the believer’s life.

Dead Tradition – Church attendance, hearing messages, giving and not doing bad satisfies God

I want to address a very common misconception we see today in almost all evangelical and pentecostal churches. I cannot speak about Roman Catholic and Orthodox churches in this regard – I imagine it may apply to some of these.

This tradition has it that Church attendance, hearing messages, giving and not doing bad satisfies God.

This is an unspoken tradition. If challenged, many church leaders would deny they believe this. But let us look at it another way.

Dead Traditions that hinder us

While God has some traditions for the church that Paul taught, according to 2 Thessalonians 3:6, there are MANY traditions in the way most churches operate and do things that actually hinder God’s purposes.

If you read something in the New Testament and it contradicts what you think you know about the way God’s people are supposed to operate, you can be sure that your thinking has been influenced by dead tradition.

What does God want from us? In a word, LOVE. He wants our hearts. He wants us to love Him with all our hearts. This means, that we will give him our total focus.

False Teachers and Teachings

“Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.” (Jude 3)

Like Jude, the brother of the Lord, I prefer to emphasize the positive truths of the Word of God, but the fact is that we are also told to CONTEND earnestly for the FAITH (Jude 3) WARN people and REBUKE ERROR (2 Timothy 3:16).

Where is the Mother Church?

In the Catechism of the Roman Catholic church on the U.S. Catholic bishop’s site, it writes:

“Our holy mother, the Church, holds and teaches that God, the first principle and last end of all things, can be known with certainty from the created world by the natural light of human reason.” http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt1sect1.htm#36

Is the Roman Catholic church correct in saying that it is the mother of all believers?
