We’ve all been given 24 hours in the day. We all have some kind of monetary income. It is wise to invest in things that are eternal, that we won’t lose. Whatever we have here, can go. I’d love to say: “Make sure all your 24 hours are optimally devoted to God, and your money also.” But I won’t say that. Instead I will say, “Invest a little more time in eternal things”. If you are listening to pop music from the world, why not stop yourself at least once, and listen to a Bible teaching on prayer, or something that will reveal Jesus to you a little more? Before you spend money on your entertainment, or your dog or cat, why not send a small amount to an evangelist you like, who is winning souls somewhere in the world?
I think small changes can have great power, if we just keep applying them. If revelation and grace comes so you can make huge changes – praise the Lord. Do what God shows you. But if not, why not just show the Lord that you do love Him. Do something in time and space that reveals your preference for Jesus, and invest in eternity. Do something today that you will be happy you did once you get to heaven – if not even before.
