Nevertheless, some people, especially those who don’t like the moral constraints of the Bible, want to say that the Bible has changed since it was written. If Jesus was proved to be the authentic Son of God through the resurrection from the dead, this cannot be so.
The textual evidence for the integrity of the Bible is better than for any other ancient book or document. Compared to other ancient writings, we have more manuscripts still in existence, and manuscripts whose age we know is much closer to the time of original writing, than it is in the case of other ancient writings. All variations which exist are of a very minor nature which do not affect any major doctrine of the Bible. We believe that it can be deduced which manuscripts in fact are closest to what was originally written, but it is outside the scope of this lesson to discuss this.
There are amazing mathematical patterns in Bible when looked at in the original Hebrew and Greek languages. Hundreds of facts based around the number 7 appear in every passage of the Bible when you look at the numerical values of the words in the original Hebrew and Greek texts of the Bible. Many of these patterns were discovered by Ivan Panin in the 19th century. This discovery turned him from being an agnostic to being a Christian. His subsequent research provides a virtually irrefutable evidence that the Bible is not simply the product of human minds. No computer today could create such a text. The conclusion is once again that the Bible is
the Word of God.
There will always be people however who refuse to believe. This is basically because they are not willing to consider the evidence honestly. Human beings often believe things for reasons other than logic or persuasive argument. Many times people believe what they want to believe, because it is convenient that way or too emotionally painful to recognise that they and their family have been fundamentally deceived all this time. People today are often “lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God.” (2 Timothy 3:4). Hiding in their pride and communal ignorance, they do not want to consider the evidence for the Bible, in case they are forced to admit it is true and they have to give up their ungodly passions and pleasures.
The Bible makes it clear that God is looking for a change in our lives. But that change will be good, because God is good, wise, and able to help us be what we were created to be.
Since God is manifest in creation, in our consciences and our personhood, we are without excuse if we do not believe in a personal
God. The Bible points this out in Romans 1:18-20. The truth is that a person who rejects the message of the Bible will often believe something very improbable or ridiculous from a rational point of view. This is actually part of God’s judgment on those who wilfully suppress the truth in unrighteousness (Romans 1:18; 2 Thessalonians 2:11,12).

Why is The KING JAMES VERSION 1611 – the only bible you can trust. Why is it the only bible in the English speaking world that can be traced back to Israel and the prophets and Apostles of Christ, whilst all the other immitations (NIV [owned by Rupert Murdoch], NLT, NASB etc) trace back to Egypt.
Presented below is the history of how bibles have been translated from the orginal Hebrew & Greek scriptures. It will allow you to understand clearly why the King James Version 1611 is the only translation that is accurate (word for word translation) and why all the other modern translations have the ‘leaven of the pharisees’ which we are commanded to avoid or we will fall away from the faith. The following seven sections will help you understand the deception that has come upon the modern day church which will result in the great falling away of the end time prophecy:
2Co 11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
2Co 11:4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
Gal 1:6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
Gal 1:7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
Gal 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
Gal 1:11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.
Gal 1:12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Same story, same language, however in a different tongue.
Now there where three that where condemned to be crucified and where hung on a hill in an open field for all to see. In the midst was Jesus of Nazareth in whom was found no fault and on either side where ones of the which that where guilty of robbery. One of the condemned welcomed his own death because it was for that purpose that he was born and His last request made he to his Father and he sayest unto Him “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do”. Now one of the men besides Him desired to escape his punishment and his last request was to Jesus of Nazareth and he sayest disrespectfully unto Him (for he knew not whom He was/is) “If thou be Christ, save thyself and us”; to the which Jesus of Nazareth give no reply. And the man of the which was on the opposite side of the first was dismayed at the man that was aforementioned second. And the third man rebuked the second saying, “Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.” Then sayest the same to Jesus of Nazareth, “Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.” And to the third was given a reply from the first who was/is Jesus of Nazareth, saying unto him, “Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.” Then the first, with his last breath cried out to His Father and said, “Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit:” and having said thus, he gave up the ghost. Now after the morrow had departed thrice, He that was dearly departed was raised, and after showing account of such, and giving further council to those that abode with he, was raised unto the Most High Place to the Glory of His Father and for the Sanctification of whosoever that believeth and abideth in Him.

The Holy Bible gives us assurances totally dependant upon “Quid Pro Quo” meaning “What for What”, Faithful through Faith, Loving through Love, Honourable by Word and Deed, Righteousness for Righteousness, a reciprocal bond of Poetry in motion when all is “Said [Word] and Done [Deed]”. Those that have a “Dim View” of the Scriptures, Prophecies, Gospels and Epistles in Holy Bible, see it as unrighteous because they read it from an unrighteous [worldly] perspective. Those that have an “Enlightened View” of all of the Holy Bible, see the Righteousness therein because they read it from a Righteous [Godly viewpoint] perspective. A picture tells a thousand words, however the picture and words it tells changes when you change your standpoint or point of view. Jesus forewarned all his Disciples prior to passing the sop that the one who betrays the Son of Man shall feel better if he had never been born [go crazy and seek death under their own hand, because of unbearable guilt of betraying the innocent Blood of Christ, his Beloved Friend, Lord and Master]. Jesus was troubled in the Spirit; because he was about to send a Beloved Friend to do something that Jesus knew for certain would cost Judas Iscariot his life.
That which is sealed in our hands are all that we have written (sealed under the hand of) and that which is sealed in our foreheads are the words that proceed form our mouths (sealed by our tongues). What are our HALLMARKS? Are they of the world or are they of God? By the very words that proceed from us shall we be known (whether by hand or mouth), and by those very words shall we be judged, for each man hath but ONE ACCUSER (himself).
If therefore thou have been given or acquired a Bible? Check the HALLMARKS to see whom the words belong. If it be an Holy Bible (word for word translation) then it contains the Word of God, for the Lord does not “mince His Words” (jumble them). If it be not a (word for word translation) then it has been trampled under the feet of a deceiver (become corrupted and thereby unholy) and will bear the HALLMARKS thereof. Therefore ATRIBUTE that which is God’s to God and that which of the world render (return) it to it’s WRITEFUL OWNER.
“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;” 2 Thessalonians 2:3

As Christians, we ought to have strong reasons to believe that the manuscripts we are translating the Bible from today are at least very, very close to the orginal autographs written by the authors. Otherwise, one would have to concede that the message could have been seriously tampered with.
I'd like to mention two important ways that historians evaluate the reliability of a manuscript copy. They look at
1. The number of similar manuscript copies we currently have.
2. The length of time between the date the original would have been written, and the dates of the manuscripts we still have extant.
The Numbers of Manuscript Copies
Firstly, it should be asked, how many copies of the manuscript exist, and how many translated copies are floating around? If many copies of a manuscript exist, and they are found in many different geographical locations, and they all say the same thing or very close to the same thing, this is powerful evidence that they report accurately a common original. If there are lots of translations of the original around, which are also very old, this is further evidence that the message translated was translated faithfully. After all, people could check to see how well their copies matched up with the original. It would be very hard now for example to round up all copies of the Bibles, destroy them all, and replace them with a different text purporting to represent the original Bible. People would know it was phony. In the same way, the people in centuries bygone would have soon realised if they were being given phony copies of the writings of the Bible. They could check.
We have today in our possession 5,300 known Greek manuscripts of the New Testament, another 10,000 Latin Vulgates, and 9,300 other early versions, giving us more than 24,000 manuscript copies of portions of the New Testament in existence today! (taken from McDowell's Evidence That demands a Verdict, vol.1, 1972 pgs.40-48; and Time, January 23, 1995, pg.57)
This is a vast number of documents by any historical standard.
How Close are the Manuscripts we possess to the Originals in time?
We ought to appreciate that so many of our history textbooks are based on manuscript copies that were made sometimes more than 1000 years after the originals were written!
The chart below reveals the time gaps of these and other works from the ancient world and compares them to the earliest New Testament manuscripts (taken from McDowell 1972:42, & Bruce 1943:16-17).
(Total New Testament manuscripts = 5,300 Greek MSS, 10,000 Latin Vulgates, 9,300 others = 24,000 copies)
(Total MSS compiled prior to 600 AD = 230)
This chart reveals that the manuscript evidence for the New Testament is in fact far better than that of any other Ancient History. We even have one document (the Magdalene Ms) containing Matthew 26 which makes important claims about the identity of Jesus Christ – that the writers believed Him to be LORD.
Those who wish to discount the Bible need to have solid reasons for their skepticism. If anyone, muslims included, want to say that the Bible was changed, they should bring forth their evidence to say WHEN and HOW and BY WHOM it was changed, and for what reason.
We have plenty of manuscripts of the New Testament that date to before the time of Mohammed, the founder of Islam – yet Islam has few manuscripts to support the Qu'ran and the earliest one they have dates to about 790. There is evidence to suggest that many manuscripts were destroyed so as to create the impression of a unified Qu'ran – because in the first century of Islam, there were a lot of different texts with different verses and versions going around. And of what is left in the official Qu'ran today, you can find out from an honest muslim scholar that a large percentage of it is considered to be abrogated anyway. Nothing in the New Testament abrogates or invalidates any other parts of it. It is a consistent document. And when you understand the plan of God rightly, even the Old Testament can be seen to be consistent with the New Testament. The Old Testament reveals Jesus Christ in hidden ways, in types, shadows and patterns. You can research this on google if it interests you.
I think you Mean the name James was changed. In hebrew I understand that they didn’t have a J so names like Joseph, Joshua, Jesus & John were spelled with y and sounded like,”Yoseph, Yoshua, jeshua & Yohn. In swedish I believe it is still the way they pronounced. But the translation and meaning are still the same. If you have an cocordance, you can read the meaning of the words spoken. Because sometimes the same word can be used but may have A deeper Meaning. But I do hear some things are written different in the kJV and the Gideons Version. I hear that King James Saw women as being less Than a man so in some verses he changed the name of prophetess into Witch. I haven’t read This to know. But I beleive that there is no male ore female in The Lord christ Jesus. I also understood that in the sinagaugs the Women set apart from men in the balcony and further back then the men so when the deciples or apostleswould teach the men and the women would yell down ,”what did he say?” And that’s why he said that women should keep quiet in church & have their husbands teach them at home. Yes as Wives & Daughters we are under our fathers & husbands Authority, but that doesn’t mean that we are any less in Jesus. Wisdom is a female spirit & we were gifts to man but I don’t believe that my prayers are anyless Answerable than a man & my mom taught me many things in the Bible & I am sure that many other moms taught their children. So I would say that you should look at the context and situation what was written andmeditate on it and ask the Lord to open the ears & eyes to your heart. In christ jesus. Bless you for seeking. Annette
What about the book of James? Why is it called James when i was told It is Jacob,James is not even a Hebrew name,That the brother of Jesus was called Jacob in both Hebrew and Greek translations.
From time to time people will come along and try to say that the Bible was radically changed by priests in order to hide and obscure the true message of Jesus. Muslims will say the Bible was changed to add the idea of Jesus being the Son of God, that He died on a cross and rose again, and anything else they can find which differs from Mohammed's account of things. Some Hindus and Buddhists and New Agers will say that the Bible was changed in order to hide its original teaching of reincarnation. Where do these people get these ideas? I will tell you – their own wishful thinking.
I would love to hear a debate between New Agers and Muslims on what the real original Bible said. It would be so comical. The reason this doesn't happen is because thier sole purpose is really to discredit and discount what the Bible consistently says AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN. Both groups simply throw the idea out as a conjecture with absolutely zero evidence behind it. But it satisfies the wilfully ignorant. There are people out there who read hundreds of books on spirituality and think they know ALL ABOUT the Bible – but who have never read the Bible at all and don't want to.
I find the idea that the Bible was changed by priests totally implausible. If I was a priest of the Catholic or Orthodox traditions, and I wanted to change the Bible, I would get rid of all the parts which contradict my religious doctrines. This the Catholics never did, nor the Orthodox. The Bible contradicts their doctrines and practices in many ways. So they didn't do a very good job of changing the Bible, did they?
Even the Qu'ran itself never says the Bible was changed. It just says that the People of the Book have been hiding what was in the Bible. Well this was true, but not in the way Mohammed would have suggested. By the time of Mohammed, the priests of Christianity had already departed in many ways from the teachings and ways of Jesus Christ. The point is the Qu'ran doesn't say the Bible was changed. Muslim leaders do nowadays, because unlike Mohammed, some of them have actually read enough of the Bible to realize that it is totally inconsistent with the new doctrines of Mohammed as found in the Qu'ran and the Hadith (islamic traditions).
Hi Raj

IF IT WERE POSSABLE.

Hi Terry34
Whenever people degrade the Bible the way you have, it is usually because they are reading
1) The Watch Tower
2) The Book of Mormon
3) Or they are just Atheist
They are like winds of the sea, tossed to, and fro. They have no anchor to their souls, so they attack those that do.
You haven’t to date displayed any of the Fruits of the Spirit, which is an identifier for a Christian.
Mat 7:15,16
15) Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16) Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
You have come here, purporting that you have some special knowledge others don’t have, then go on to say.
“I would show you thy err, but I am commanded to, “Not throw pearls to swine.”
You do err in your attitude.
1Jn 3:14
We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.
Therefore I perceive the love of God does not abide in you, having not demonstrated that fruit yet.
In closing, the Bible that you have such a low regard for speaks of you.
Please excuse my use of the 1611- KJV.
1Co 2:14
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
JIM
What is up with these discussions … :/ I don’t think God is pleased with people calling each other fools. I replied to your other post under Spirit, Soul and Body Terry34 which you didn’t seem too keen to answer. Anyway God’s word is clear when it comes to these kind of ‘quarrels’.
‘But avoid foolish disputes, genealogies, contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and useless’ Titus 3:9
‘And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God will perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth’ 2 Timothy 2:24-25
I think this also applies to this topic. There may be totally askew versions of the Bible out there, but translations that are generally accepted such as NIV, NKJV and others will be taught and revealed to us in the truth only by the Holy Spirit. You can go just as astray trying to read a ‘genuine’ version of the Bible with your own wisdom, mind and power. It’s the Holy Spirit and God’s grace that will teach us and who will lead in a straight path in-line with the truth as we wait upon God when reading scripture.
“The number of Bible versions have multiplied AFTER the pre-existance of differing religions and beliefs.”
Not so my friend. Religions are based mostly on the version of the Bible they are reading. Some doctrine in any given religion is man based. This explains, to some degree, the many different versions of religions.
Parts of the Jewish Scripture dates back to about 4000 BC. The Jewish Bible does not recognize the New Testament.
The Catholic Vulgate dates back to the thirteenth century. The neuter plural Biblia (Vulgate) came to be regarded as a feminine singular, and ‘The Books’ became by common consent The Book (‘Biblia,’ sing.). This gradually was adopted into our language in the form “Bible.”
Articles of the Church of England and of the Protestant Episcopal Church in the United States of America (as found in the Prayer Books of these two Churches) is generally accepted as representing their unanimous conclusions as to the Canonical Books of the Old and New Testament.
The first hand-written English language Bible manuscripts were produced in the 1380’s AD by John Wycliffe, an Oxford professor, scholar, and theologian. Wycliffe, (also spelled “Wycliff” & “Wyclif”), was well-known throughout Europe for his opposition to the teaching of the organized Church, which he believed to be contrary to the Bible. With the help of his followers, called the Lollards, and his assistant Purvey, and many other faithful scribes, Wycliffe produced dozens of English language manuscript copies of the scriptures. Wycliffe started his own religion with his new Bible.
The KJV Bible dates to about 1613 AD and is based largely on the Vulgate. Many people do not realize how many times the King James Bible has been changed in some form or another. There have been changes made in the KJV in the following years: 1613, 1616, 1617, 1618, 1629, 1630, 1633, 1634, 1637, 1638, 1640, 1642, 1653, 1659, 1675, 1679, 1833, 1896, 1904.
in 1517, Martin Luther nailed his famous 95 Theses of Contention (a list of 95 issues of heretical theology and crimes of the Roman Catholic Church) into the church door at Wittenberg. Martin Luther went on to be the first person to translate and publish the Bible in the commonly-spoken dialect of the German people; a translation more appealing than previous German Biblical translations. Luther started the Lutheran Church.
In the 1490’s another Oxford professor, and the personal physician to King Henry the 7th and 8th, Thomas Linacre, decided to learn Greek. After reading the Gospels in Greek, and comparing it to the Latin Vulgate, he wrote in his diary, “Either this (the original Greek) is not the Gospel… or we are not Christians.” The Latin had become so corrupt that it no longer even preserved the message of the Gospel… yet the Church still threatened to kill anyone who read the scripture in any language other than Latin.
In considering the experiences of Linacre and Colet, both who made their own version of the Bible and started a religion, and the great scholar Erasmus was so moved to correct the corrupt Latin Vulgate, that in 1516, with the help of printer John Froben, he published a Greek-Latin Parallel New Testament.
Again, many people do not realize how many times the King James Bible has been changed in some form or another. There have been changes made in the KJV in the following years: 1613, 1616, 1617, 1618, 1629, 1630, 1633, 1634, 1637, 1638, 1640, 1642, 1653, 1659, 1675, 1679, 1833, 1896, 1904.
Most of the modern religions were formed in the time period the KJV was modified some nineteen (19) times. So your statement, “The number of Bible versions have multiplied AFTER the pre-existance of differing religions and beliefs,” is NOT true.
You may compare vitamins to Scripture if you like, but you may be taking the vitamins from China that are made from sheet rock dust. In other words, a fake vitamin or Scripture.
How many churches did Jesus establish on this earth when he was here? ONE.
All the different religions of the world cannot be right no matter how you slice it or make excuses for one version of the Bible is equal to another version and in turn claim all religions are equal and in turn claim all religions are based on the true infallible word of God based on your or their version of the Bible.
“For you to say there are 150 versions of the Bible is one thing… but to say each of them claims to be the perfect and unaltered Word of God is outlandish, foolish and just plain wrong.” Okay put aside your generalized, non-answer to my question and show me how outlandish, foolish and just plain wrong I am?
So you don’t believe the Catholics claim to have the most correct Bible in the Vulgate? And you don’t believe Gideons claim the Gideon’s Bible is the most correct with their version of “Biblical salvation” inserted into it? If you don’t, then my friend, you are the foolish one.
There are so many different religions and beliefs in the world and they are not based on the Bible. When you speak of religions, are you saying Bhuddism, Muslims, Hinduism, Taoism, etc… If you are talking about differing Christian beliefs, they predate the explosion of Bible versions. Bible versions are not the reason for different beliefs. All over this board you will find people using the very same versions and verses to uphold differing beliefs and interpretations.
For you to say there are 150 versions of the Bible is one thing… but to say each of them claims to be the perfect and unaltered Word of God is outlandish, foolish and just plain wrong. You are using gross generalities to the discussion and are not speaking the truth yourself.
There are many different religions and beliefs because there are so many different people. Each endowed with a mind that is free to think and reason for itself. You and I can talk vitamins and their effectiveness, or ineffectiveness on the body – we will have two different opinions and it is not because there is more than one version of the Bible floating around. 🙂
I grew up in the Worldwide Church of God. That church is no longer in existence. When it was, I went to Bible college there, and they did not adhere to one translation. The NIV and other versions were equally viewed. So, when you speak of the Gideons, whom I do not have a personal reference point for, I am skeptical.
The number of Bible versions have multiplied AFTER the pre-existance of differing religions and beliefs. I do not wish to wade through bones while eating my fish. It is up to you to bring a discussion that does not contain “weakest points”. We need to have soundness in our dialog, without errors, to the best of our ability. Your comments about the Worldwide Church of God and using it to make a point about versions, personally tells me you have not tried very hard to verify your “facts”. I know this sounds hard, but I am speaking clearly what you have conveyed, compared to what I know to be true, and how it affects my ability to digest the other things you may have to say that I am not personally acquainted with the facts on….
The Gideon Society has its version of the Bible, and yes they are a religion. The World Wide Church of God has its favorite version of the Bible. The church of Christ has it’s favorite version called New International Version, claiming it is the most correct and is “transliterated” from original scrolls. That’s impossible. Thousands of individuals, operating within every Protestant religion, choose their favorite version based on their own personal beliefs – each being a religion in itself. The Baptist will take any version that waters down the necessity of baptism. The Catholics have the Vulgate. The Vulgate has more books than the average version of the KJV or any “Protestant” Bible. The Jews have their version of the Scriptures. The Jews leave out the New Testament entirely. Need I go on??
For example, the Gideon Bible gives you a short description of “their” version of Biblical salvation, (Yes, there are different versions of “Biblical salvation,”) with Biblical quotations, and a place for the reader to sign and date his confession of Jesus (this is especially common in the shorter editions the New Testament and Psalms).
The Gideons principally use the King James Version for their Bibles. The Gideons also distribute New King James Bibles and Testaments, which they refer to as “Modern English Version” (MEV) Bibles and Testaments. According to the Gideon Guidebook, these MEV Scriptures are used as a supplement to the KJV Bibles. Typically, MEV Bibles are allowed to be distributed only when either the Bible purchaser Hotel or the recipient specifies a desire for a “modern” Bible. Need I go any further?
One of the favorite passages in the Bible used to condemn those that fail to belief the “Bible” is the infallible word of God is Revelations 22:18-19. You know the one about adding and taking way from the “Scriptures?”Again thy do err, not knowing the Scriptures or the true nature of God and man.
Now, if thy can refrain from attacking my response from what seems like the weakest point, please address the other statements in my original post.
If the different variations are not important then why is there so many different religions and beliefs in the world? And why are there at least 150 different versions of the Bible, each one claiming to be the perfect and unaltered Word of God?
Terry, your statement that “there are so many different religions and beliefs in the word – ALL based on some of these variations” is totally misleading. I bet you can’t even find 2 or 3 different religious beliefs actually BASED on differences in the variations.
If we exclude beliefs based around Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism and Animism which have nothing to do with the Bible really – though Islam might claim to be the rightful heir of a book very few of its practictioners have ever looked at – if we exclude those beliefs and get down to beliefs based around the Bible – these different beliefs have arisen because of POWER STRUGGLES between different religious leaders as well as spirits of deception which play with the minds of men. Two people can look at the same verse and for various reasons can come up with a totally contradictory understanding. The reasons are manifold and take time to explore. But it isn’t because of textual variation except to a VERY small extent.
There were many Christian sects when virtually the only Bible available was the King James version.
All statements coming from self-proclaimed religious experts tell me that the Bible is the INFALLIBLE word of God and from your own article, “All variations which exist are of a very minor nature which do not affect any major doctrine of the Bible. ”
If the different variations are not important then why is there so many different religions and beliefs in the world – all based on some of these variations? And why are there at least 150 different versions of the Bible, each one claiming to be the perfect and unaltered Word of God?
Again thy do err, not knowing the Scriptures or the true nature of God and man.
It is imperative that Christians understand that Bible Versions do matter. New versions are not simply written to make it easier to understand God’s Word in “modern language.” There is a total assault against Biblical truth and doctrine taking place as demonstrated in the following Charts. Many postulate that no doctrines have been changed, which is a false presumption.
Unless a version was translated from the Received texts, it is suspect and indeed can and does lead to gnostic doctrine. A Gnostic version will not allow a person to fully understand what the will of the Lord is, because the doctrine itself is changed. For that reason, the King James Version is the best translation into the English language and had God’s protection, as His Word is how we come to know Him. The same holds true for God’s Word when the Received Texts is translated into other languages.
The greatest method of deception is to counterfeit.

You well know that Jewish people are turning to Christ in great numbers, while others are swallowed up in the nothingness of the post modern world.
There is a sure similarity between the role of the Talmud and similar Jewish writings and the teachings of Roman Catholicism. Both have served to conceal God’s word in favor a system of theology. Both separate man from a direct relationship with God!
Hence the importance of personal testimony and witness to the Gospel!
Continue your good work.
Peer.
Peer, that is a powerful point. The scriptures condemn the Jews in so many ways, yet these verses are intact. No writing of man would be so forthright in detailing the error of those writing it. The Jewish people have been extremely faithful in the preservation of the Word, even when it speaks ill of them. I look forward to their redemption.
Blessings and Peace,
Timothy
Hi Pete, this might seem a tangent / but it has a bearing on what you are saying- have you ever read any of the apocryphal writings- either Jewish or Christian?
Anonymous Friend-
Thank you for sharing- may your ministry be effective! As a believer of Jewish descent, I have over the years witnessed to Muslims. The hard lesson I had to learn is that truth affirmed by Paul, that our battle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual powers of wickedness (Eph 6_10-16). With this we learn that the whole world is under darkness, under sway of Satan (1 Jn 15-9).
With this in heart, we know that only spiritual weapons will prevail against, the philosophies of the West, those of the East, the Talmud of the Jews and the Koran of the Muslim.
In Ephesians 6 Paul warns us of the “wiles of the enemy” or the trickery of this foe. The enemy will always attempt to turn our witness of the Gospel into a debate fueled by “human reasoning- based on material proofs!” Peter himself urges us to always be prepared to provide a reason for our faith (1Pe 3_15-17). But when we do so, we must reason as Peter reasoned- by Scripture and most importantly our personal testimony of Christ’s power in Saving us.
——————————–
When a person questions the Bible- it is important to respond with Scripture alone.
Moses in the book of Deuteronomy chapters 28-31 sets before Israel the path of life and death, blessings and curses, this even before Israel entered the Promised Land. Here in Deuteronomy, God presents to Israel their future- one of blessing for obedience and curses for disobedience.
We read in these chapters that they would indeed reject the testimony of Moses and as such the curses would be visited upon the people until is cast out of the Promised land and scattered throughout the world, where they would wander despised and persecuted. So, we see Scripture presents Israel’s history before it took root.
For 2000 years, certain gentiles under the guise of Christianity justified their persecution of the Jews by calling to their attention that their own Scriptures prophesied that they were a disobedient and cursed people.
So, if the Jews had in mind to change any Scripture, it is these that they would’ve altered. Yet the Jews have preserved these Scriptures with all fidelity.
In a like way, the same Scriptures testify to the Jewish Messiah, his circumstance of birth, life, death at the hands of the Jewish leadership. These Scriptures were also used as proof that the Jews were an obstinate (we are!) people, worthy of persecution. Yet the Jews preserved these Scriptures intact- with all fidelity.
Even the Gospel of the Messiah, the Gospel of Grace, Mercy and propitiation of sins is recorded in these same Scriptures. This confirming the testimony of our New Testament Scriptures.
So, in this way, the Word of God is self attesting- proclaiming its own sanctity and preservation.
————————————————–
However, a fiery witness is affirming our personal testimony of what Christ has done for us. Here we have the opportunity to present, sin, repentance, the Cross, the great confession and the promise of the Spirit. Our personal testimony fortified by prayer and an infilling of the Holy Spirit is dynamite sufficient to break up the hardest heart.
May your testimony prosper! peer.
Prisca, I will add to what you are saying. This is not a ‘better’ explanation, but simply adding a point or two.
The Dead Sea Scrolls found reveal the exactness of scripture in the passage of time. What was written hundreds of years before Christ is exactly what we have today. The Word did not change.
Internal evidence is that Hebrews tells us Jesus is “the same yesterday, today and forever.” Also, Jesus Himself says, “I change not.” Also, read Ezekiel 16. God tells the story of His love relationship with Israel, past, present and future. He affirms two things in dispute by what you are muslims say:
1 – Israel’s great infidelity to God.
2 – God’s great fidelity to Israel, culminating in His return to rule over them and their return to Him in the end.
God is not fickle. He knew whom He was courting and He committed Himself to Israel and the Christian “Israel of God” as Paul calls us. God has pledged Himself to the sanctification and restoration of Israel. He is not vengeful toward His chosen, He is seeking a remnant through them, not instead of them.
There is so much more to be said…
Blessings and Peace,
Timothy
Hi,
I came here seeing the catchy “Has the Bible been changed” phrase. You guys are talking about the Church, but i want to discuss the Islamic perspective, where their Holy Book says authoritatively that the Bible of the Christians has been changed. Coming from a Muslim country I am often asked whether the Bible has been changed or not. I am sure other Christians living with Muslims also have to face the same question.
To answer them i usually tell them that the Bible Society has preserved the original scripts and one can always make a comparison. I also cross question them by presenting my theory on “Why a new Book?” i.e. if He is the same God and the nations that He chose (they believe that God chooses races, first Jews then Christians, taking Christians also as one race or nation) went astray, then that doesn’t mean He should give a new book everytime, which is to say that if their God is the same as the God of the jews and the Christians, which they claim to be, then why he gave them a new Book with a totally different doctrine. The nations had changed, not God. I mean anyone going back on their word would do so only if somehow their perspective changes or someone is forcing them to change. In God’s case none seems true, so they should really start thinking over it.
If they pose the same question to me, i.e. the jews only have the Old Testament and we have the additional New testament, then this gives me a chance to exaplin the meaning of testament and through that, i tell them about salvation.
If anyone knows a better answer, please share.
Are you aware that Genesis now says that to promise, you put your hand under a thigh?

Im not sure about the Ivan Panin reference Michael.
It seemed like the occult science of numerology. I had a look at some stuff on Panin and he used Wescott and Horts translations as the basis of his work.
You may not know that these Anglican ministers were responsible for forming the “Cambridge ghost society” which later became the “centre for psychical research”, groups spearheading paranormal and occult research.
Practical Kabbalah uses the occult practice of Gematria (The study of the numerical values of words) on biblcal texts to uncover the “names of god” which are then chanted and written on paper and kept about the person to summon demons.
My understanding of the validity of the Bible is this.
The church fathers were faced with the difficult task of deciding which versions of which surviving scriptures to include in the “canon”.
Knowing that some scripures were corrupted through mans ulterior motive and hidden agenda, the Holy spirit guided them as to what to include.
An example is the apocraphal book of Enoch. That this book was known by the early church is evident by the apostle Jude’s reference. However within a few hundred years, no reliable versions remained.
Through prayer and careful listening to the Holy Spirit the church fathers assembled the true and reliable accounts.
I am no expert on bible history, im just writing my thoughts on the matter.
God bless
Pete
God Bless you all in the name of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. A-Men.

1. Genesis 24:2
He said to the chief servant in his household, the one in charge of all that he had, “Put your hand under my thigh.
Genesis 24:1-3 (in Context) Genesis 24 (Whole Chapter)
2. Genesis 24:9
So the servant put his hand under the thigh of his master Abraham and swore an oath to him concerning this matter.
Genesis 24:8-10 (in Context) Genesis 24 (Whole Chapter)
3. Genesis 47:29
When the time drew near for Israel to die, he called for his son Joseph and said to him, “If I have found favor in your eyes, put your hand under my thigh and promise that you will show me kindness and faithfulness. Do not bury me in Egypt,
Im not sure about the Ivan Panin reference Michael.
God bless
Pete
