(These prayers can easily be modified on the fly to be a prayer for a loved one or a group of people, as the need requires).
Lord, you declared that you came to proclaim recovery of sight to the blind. (Luke 4:18). Proclaim recovery of sight to MY (inner) eyes, the eyes of my heart!
You sent Paul your servant to “to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.” (Acts 26:18). Lord, send someone to open MY eyes so that I may turn from darkness to light, from the power of Satan to God. I pray for full forgiveness of sins and to receive an eternal inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in You!
I pray that the eyes of my understanding will be enlightened; that I may know what is the hope of Your calling, what are the riches of the glory of Your inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of Your power toward us who believe! (Ephesians 1:18,19)
Open my eyes, that I may see wondrous things from Your law! (Psalm 119:18). (And from Your Word in general, Oh Lord!)
I call to You, Lord! Answer me, and show me great and mighty things which I do not know! (Jeremiah 33:3)
Lord, show me how to anoint my eyes with eye salve, that I may see! (Revelation 3:18)
Giving all diligence, I add to my faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, to brotherly kindness love. I thank you Lord that by your grace I can have these things, and can abound in them, so that I will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. Those who lack these things are short-sighted, even to blindness. So by adding these things, I thank you Lord that I am avoiding spiritual blindness.
(2 Peter 1:5-9)
