The Crooked Lines of God Perhaps you have voiced to God the complaint that both Job and Jeremiah also did, that sometimes things just don’t

The doctrine of "original sin" is a very difficult one. Unfortunately, the Scriptures are not explicit in detailing the universal condition of men and the complexities and dynamics of how Adam's sin affected his posterity. Nonetheless, I do believe there are some theological absolutes.
I hold to what I refer to as a "modified view of original sin", namely:
The Bible says,
2Ch 7:13 When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people,
2Ch 7:14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
In searching the Bible for the truth about God, we come across statements like these above.
Traditional Christian theology teaches that we are born as sinners. It teaches us that Adam’s original sin of disobedience to God is IMPUTED to us – that God considers US guilty of what Adam did, even before we do anything.
My wife was telling me how when she first came to Christ she was very impressed with the love of Jesus, and how Jesus did so many things to lift her out of a bad place.
Its true, Jesus does lift us out of a bad place. Through Him, we get forgiveness of sins, new life, the hope of heaven, escape from hell, deliverance from the curse, new purpose and so on. Jesus even gives us a place and a function in His kingdom.
RELIGION – A DESTRUCTIVE FORCE:
Religion inevitably bends people out of shape. It changes ordinary human beings into distorted and distasteful parodies of real people. Religion is a poisonous and dangerous force responsible for uncountable human miseries.
And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, ” Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the
knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” (Genesis 2:16)
"And out of the ground the Lord God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life
was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil." (Genesis 2:9).
