Keys to Being Led by the Spirit

My wife Marilena has been reading Kenneth E. Hagin's book "How to be Led by the Spirit of God". Its a book I read years ago and I have ignored some of the principles of the book in the last few years – no doubt to my own great loss.

We have this tendency to want to speak with a spiritual man or a prophet about what we should do in life, but this is a very dangerous practice even for sincere Christians.

What we need to do, according to Hagin in his book, is develop and train our human spirit, which has been regenerated by God when we were born again.

Sometimes we go through trials, problems, hurts, lack, etc and we wonder what is happening to us, where is God in all of this, what are we suppose to understand from it and how are we supposed to respond to it all. We can get discouraged, worried, stressed and even depressed. How can we go through these things as overcomers?

In the last article I spoke about rejoicing in our trials and glorying in them, by letting patience do it's full work in us, so we may become perfect, complete, lacking nothing, in other words – like Jesus. Happy New Year to all! When I prayed tonight, I got a Word from God. The Bible says: 'Be filled with the Spirit, redeeming the time!' (Ephesians 5). God says here that if we take the time to pray and put the effort necessary to pray UNTIL we are truly filled with the Holy Spirit, He will make sure that the time you put in prayer will be redeemed and even more!

Floods of Biblical proportions in Australia

Please pray about the natural disasters that have hit Queensland in Australia and NSW. They say it is the worst in Australia's history and of 'Biblical proportions'. I thought it would be worth sharing afresh a dream I had at the beginning of 2008 where natural disasters were predicted by God for Australia. As I was praying and reading the Bible this morning, something stood out and felt like it was a very relevant word for these days. So I thought to share it in the hope that some might take heed and consider what they are focusing on in these last days and why.

This Scripture stood out to me:

"And do you seek great things for yourself? DO NOT SEEK THEM, for behold, I will bring adversity on all flesh" says the Lord (Jeremiah 45:5)

Praising God – what can it do in and for you?

When I was at church yesterday
evening, a word came from the Lord through the pastor’s wife that He
wants us to praise, because those who are worshippers are those who
hear the voice of God. If you want direction from the Lord in any
area of your life, get into praise. This puts you in such a place in
God where you can hear His voice clearer.

What are you setting before your eyes?

What are you giving your eyes to? What are you feeding on? What is your spiritual diet? Whatever we watch, listen to, read is what we are feeding on. And based on what we are feeding on is what we become.

It is the same as in the natural world, if you eat good food, it becomes part of you and you feel good and do not get sick as easily. If you eat junk food, it also becomes part of you and the end result long term will be a sick body or even death.

The Word of God say:

How does God think about evangelism? How do you think about it? Do you agree with God?

Jesus said in John 4:35: “Do you not say, Four months more and then the harvest? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! they are ripe for harvest.”

I did some research to see what did this saying mean in the Jewish culture and found the following. After they planted the seed, there was four months between the sowing time and harvest time.
