Do Not Follow the Crowd: the dangers
“Do not follow the crowd in doing wrong” (Ex. 23:2).
It should be obvious to anyone that we are not to do wrong, but this verse singles out doing wrong by following a crowd. Why? Because it is often so much easier to do wrong when you are in a crowd than when you are alone. For in a crowd there is often a real pressure to do what they do or risk being subject to ridicule, or worse, actual physical attack in the case of political uprisings and mob mentality or riots. Nevertheless, Scripture is clear: Whatever the risks, we are not to go along with the crowd in doing wrong.

We read in Judges 6: 16 And the LORD said unto him, Surely I will be with thee, and thou shalt smite the Midianites as one man. How would it change your life to know that God of all creation is for you? If you only had that sort of ultimate assurance as Gideon was told how would you do things differently? These words Gideon obviously needed to hear and take to heart, are the same words you probably need to hear today that ought to connect in deepest part of your spirit and soul. Because this is part of God’s will for your life.
Words: Rain from Heaven, Fire from Hell
God’s Word is quite severe when describing the power of words. It says that it is through the spoken word that God created the universe:
“By the word of the Lord were the heavens made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth” (Ps 33:6 NIV).
“For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm” (Ps 33:9 NIV).
Modesty in Church Meetings
Personally I think there is a difference between presenting oneself well and presenting oneself in a way that is likely to create sexual attraction. It is good to dress nicely, and nice clothes don't cost the earth these days. I personally think that there is nothing wrong with a little make-up is your face is flawed and you want to cover that up. But young women especially need to be careful how they dress these days. We need to be honest and recognise that most men, and especially young men, find a woman of beautiful form very desirable and attractive.

I am convinced that many times the attitude and the style of the music affects its appropriateness as a means to worship a Holy God. But whether we can make a blanket condemnation of certain music styles is an issue to discuss. Do you believe God would reveal this to someone while the majority of church leaders have no idea how the Lord feels about the music they play?
Jesus offers Rest and Teaching
