"Lady Gaga" has become something of a worldwide pop culture phenomenon. On youtube alone, her videos have had HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS of views and I understand her songs play on the radio a lot too. I see references to "Lady Gaga" all over the newspapers, all over the internet and someone mentions that name at least every second on twitter. She has been named as one of the world's most influential, if not THE most influential celebrity. Quite a marketing coup!
So if she has become such an influential person, lets have a look at what her songs are saying. And lets try to evaluate the spiritual source of her songs, if there is one. Where is this woman leading today's youth? Towards God, or away from God?
Ok, so now I will quote from what I presume to be an official copy of her teachings – I mean lyrics – from metrolyrics.com. We will look at the song 'Born this Way'. Here we go:
"It doesn't matter if you love him or capital H-I-M
Just put your paws up
'Cause you were born this way, baby"
This song refers explicitly to God the Creator later on. So when she talks of capital H-I-M presumably she is also referring to GOD. Almighty God, the Creator and Judge of all, is being referenced in this song. And what does Lady Gaga say?
"It doesn't matter if you love … H-I-M". It doesn't matter if you love God.
Are you going to let that kind of message play through your head? That it doesn't matter if you love God? Or that its just as good as loving some boyfriend? You might say "It doesn't affect me. I just like the music." If you say that, you don't know how the human mind works. These repeated messages that we consent to enjoy have the affect of changing our values and beliefs over time.
I just want you to know that Jesus said the greatest commandment is to "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your mind, with all your soul and with all your strength". But Lady Gaga says it doesn't matter if you love God. Who are you going to believe?
Someone might say: "Oh, I believe in God. I believe in Jesus". Lady Gaga apparently believes in the existence of God and Jesus also, but she contradicts what Jesus says again and again. The world loves Lady Gaga, and buys her CDs, even though she says the opposite to what Jesus says. And I am going to prove this again and again to you.
If you believe in the existence of spirits, and that musicians can get their energy and inspiriation from spiritual forces, then could it be just possible that Lady Gaga is tapping into spiritual power that is HOSTILE to the Creator of the Universe, and that these spiritual powers are the ones who have catapulted her to meteoric heights of fame in a few short years? Put that thought on hold, lets keep looking at these lyrics and their message.
"Just put your paws up, cause you were born this way, baby."
Do humans have paws? No, animal have paws. Cats have paws. Lions, tigers and bears have paws. Paws are weapons, they are harmful. Lady Gaga is telling you basically that you are an ANIMAL, and you were BORN THIS WAY. So just accept the way you are, it doesn't matter whether you love God or not, you animal. Just follow your instincts. Are you going to let this young woman tell you this in the inner sanctuary of your mind?
"There's nothin' wrong with lovin' who you are
She said, 'cause He made you perfect, babe
So hold your head up, girl and you you'll go far
Listen to me when I say"
I'm beautiful in my way
'Cause God makes no mistakes
I'm on the right track, baby
I was born this way
Here's the central argument of this song. "God made you perfect. You should love the way you are. Doesn't matter what kind of so-called sin you are into. Because God made you that way."
Now, I hate to break the bad news to you. This is a deep mystery, but God is not 100% responsible for the way we are born. In fact, much of who we are is inherited from our parents and does NOT come directly from God. Our parents, and their parents before them, and so on, WERE SINFUL. We are children of ADAM, who rebelled against Almighty God and chose the dominion of Satan over his soul. All descendants of Adam are therefore FLAWED – physically, morally, intellectually.
I'm sorry to say this, but the fact is, you and I were BORN UNDER A CURSE. The curse of sin and death. Everything in our moral nature when born was already tainted with a strong pre-disposition to SIN – to REBEL against the wisdom and authority of Almighty God.
Even our physical bodies are imperfect and subject to corruption. We are all aware of this, and some of us try to cover it up with makeup or cosmetic surgery, with gym workouts or with healthy eating – but the fact is, our bodies are doomed. Our bodies are doomed, they will die, this is beyond dispute. But did you know that in their natural state, our souls are also doomed? That "the wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23). And Paul talked about the state of the Ephesians BEFORE they truly were converted to Christ and experienced a SPIRITUAL REGENERATION:
1 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.
In our natural "born this way" state, we are by nature "children of wrath". That is why Lady Gaga is totally anti-Bible when she says
"I'm on the right track, baby. I was born this way".
Jesus Christ made it very clear in his teaching that the way we were born DISQUALIFIES us from entering the Kingdom of Heaven.
THAT IS WHY JESUS SAID "YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN".
John 3:3
You may have been born in a certain way, but that doesn't mean God approves of what you are. Jesus said, "You must be born again". You need a new clean spiritual nature, one that loves God and wants to do God's will, in order to have any chance whatsoever of entering the pure Kingdom of Heaven.
Don't believe what Lady Gaga teaches. You might like her style, her sounds or whatever, but are you going to let her influence your SOUL. Your eternal soul? What shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul?
But what does Lady Gaga say?
"Don't hide yourself in regret
Just love yourself and you're set
I'm on the right track, baby
I was born this way, born this way"
In other words: don't regret who you are, or what you have done. Love yourself, "and you're set".
There IS something about ourselves that we should love. God HAS created something special and valuable and unique in each of us. This is true. But sadly we are also tainted with something which is EVIL. And Jesus calls upon us to DENY the evil part in our souls, and follow him.
24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. (Matthew 16:24)
There is something we have to SAY NO to within OURSELVES if we want to follow Jesus and enter Heaven when we die.
Now we go on to some more of Lady Gaga's teachings:
"A different lover is not a sin
Believe capital H-I-M
I love my life, I love this record and
Mi amore vole fe yah"
A different lover IS a sin if its not your husband or wife. Or, if this is a reference to spiritual lovers, then every lover that is NOT the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY is basically an IDOL. And yes, all idolatry is sin and all idolaters will burn in the Lake of Fire.
8 But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
Rev 21:8 (NKJV)
"Mi amore vole fe yah" is Italian and means something like "My love needs faith". But what kind of faith does Lady Gaga have? Its a faith that opposes the Holy Spirit's teaching in the Word of God.
Later on in the song we get Lady Gaga's endorsement of homosexual practices:
"No matter gay, straight or bi
Lesbian, transgendered life
I'm on the right track, baby
I was born to survive
No matter black, white or beige
Chola or orient made
I'm on the right track, baby
I was born to be brave"
One of the favorite tricks of the gay lobby is to associate the rejection of homosexual practices with RACISM. By mixing truth with error here, Lady Gaga gets multitudes of people to swallow a very popular lie that we have been subjected to through the media for the last 20 years at least.
Of course God makes people with different skin colors. And all skin colors are beautiful in their own way. Nothing wrong with brown skin, white skin or olive skin. But when Lady Gaga associates this with sexual orientation, she is communicating a lie.
God doesn't make anyone homosexual. People may be born with evil spirits that pervert their sexuality. There is no "gay gene" and if there was, it would have been elimintated a long time ago through the processes of Natural Selection. I can't think of anything MORE unfavorable to survival of a characteristic than the removal of the desire to procreate.
The Bible condemns homosexual practices, but the world and certain portions of today's apostate church CELEBRATES these things and FIGHTS for them.
Again we see that Lady Gaga is serving the spiritual agenda of a Master that is HOSTILE to the Bible, to Jesus Christ and to Almighty God.
If you follow your own desires, "you are not on the right track, baby".
"Yet they did not obey or incline their ear, but followed the counsels and the dictates of their evil hearts, and went backward and not forward." (Jeremiah 7:24)
Let me leave you for now with the words of Proverb 14:12
"There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death."
Dear friend, sin is SO SERIOUS, and so pervasive in our modern culture, that it threatens to eternally destroy MULTITUDES of SOULS, including YOUR FAMILY, YOUR BEST FRIENDS, your SCHOOLMATES, your WORK COLLEAGUES. It is a veritable PLAGUE. It is a DISASTER worse than the Fukushima nuclear meltdown in Japan. This disaster threatens to destroy you eternally, and if it does you will FEEL IT forever.
Don't be taken down with the world. Turn from sin. Give your life to Jesus Christ, and be BORN AGAIN. Receive a new clean life from God. Reject the corrupted life and nature, and become a true holy child of God. God will do it for you if you call upon the name of Jesus sincerely. For:
"Whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved".
