How Jesus Became A Reality In My Life

Beginnings

I was brought up in Scotland in a family that attended church regularly every Sunday. Despite being exposed to Christian things, the Christian faith made little impact on my life. Going to church was a matter of habit, a social activity where I met lots of others my own age. After leaving home for London at the age of 20, I drifted away from church. Several years later I was married in one and continued with church attendance, although "church" did not affect my life. read more »

I was born in Bucharest, Romania. I had a normal childhood, until I was 7 and a half years old, when my mother got sick with cancer. I have been told that she did an abortion and that's how she got sick. It was illegal to have an abortion under the communist regime, which I think it was good. I was struck with a hard reality of life, seeing my mother suffer in the home, wailing with pain, eliminating blood and suffering.  read more »

On the first Sunday in April I was taken by a brother to a certain community not far from Bucharest. There I was given the opportunity to preach the Word of God. I shared about the Kingdom of God, pointing out that this was the message of good news that Jesus brought. Jesus taught it and also demonstrated the reality of the Kingdom by healing the sick and casting out demons.

In substance my message was: there is much injustice in this world, but God has invaded this world with a new order. God comes when invited, so we need to pray. read more »
