The Holy Spirit and Power

Trusting in Money and Suppressing the Holy Spirit's Gifts

Few, if any, of my friends who have been around the pentecostal churches for the last 20 years or so would deny that we have witnessed a change of emphasis in the preaching and ministry.

What we see is the exaltation of the power of finance, and what amounts to a suppression of the power of the Holy Spirit, at least in many of the ways He was formerly free to move in the churches.

Miracles Today because Jesus is alive

Should it surprise a true believer in God that God is working miracles today? According to the Bible, "Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today and forever" (Hebrews 13:8). If Jesus was ever a miracle worker, He is today. Did He ever tell you He had stopped doing miracles?

Emptiness - an important key to fullness

Its a principle that I have not emphasized enough on this website: but the truth is, God is looking for EMPTY vessels to fill. "Blessed are the poor in spirit [the spiritual beggars], for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven." (Matthew 5:3).

No matter how much we have received from God, God must remain our source of initiative, life and power. We cannot trust in what we have received already - be it money, anointing, connections, knowledge, income streams, or people. If we trust in those things, we may lose them. God wants us to do things with Him, by His power and because He prompted us.

The Betrayal of Pentecost - by Michael Edds

Acts 1:8 declares, "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth."

The fulfillment of that prophetic word is recorded in Acts 2:4 when a rag-tag group of refugees met in an upstairs room in Jerusalem. It states, "And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them utterance. I guess these could be called "the first Pentecostals."

Impossible to Possible - Part 2 - Dare to Win - by Rambabu

When the Holy Spirit comes on you, a damp squib, a WlNh-out, will become a stick of dynamite. The impossible Will become possible.

I Samuel 8:4 tells us that Israel wanted a King:

So all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah. They said to him, "You are old, and your sons do not walk in your ways; now appoint a King to lead us, such as all the other nations have."

Samuel was displeased, that the people did not recognize the LORD as their King. When the people of Israel persisted, the LORD let them have their desire.
