I have
been looking at your page for several weeks now and find it
to be an amazing tool of God. I am only twelve years old, but I watch
the
news occasionally... Anyways, I heard the theory of evolution for the
first
time when watching a news broadcast. I've been a Christian all my life
and
when I heard something this outrageous it startled me. I discarded
it,
thinking it couldn't be true. Later on the same week, I found myself
scanning
my Science book, looking for more information on the topic. I found
some.
What the book had to say made me wonder. I asked my dad about it and
he told
me to pray... I did. Well, one day I was surfing the web, and I typed
in for
a keyword, "Proof That God Exists" which led me to your page. I began
reading
it and clicking on the links it had to offer. After about a week of
reading
it I began to feel better and better about it. Then when I clicked
on the
section about sightings and testimonies I knew the stories told there
were
true. And I completely forgot that I ever doubted that God existed.
I didn't
write you to tell you how great your page is (even though it is an
amazing
sight...) I wanted to help other people who are going through what
I went
through. I have a TRUE story that also helped make up my mind that
I would
like to share with you, if you'd just take your time to read it. He
may have
not performed a GREAT miracle, or even one at all, but I think it was
pretty
cool. And it may have just been a coincedence, but I don't believe
in
coincedences. I believe everything happens for a reason. If you think
it is a
good, true story, then please, feel free to put it on your webpage...
One night I asked my dad
if he would talk to me about evolution and
God. He told me evolution would be like taking a pad of notebook paper
and a
pen, and putting it in a washing machine and leaving it on for billions
of
years. Then after the billions of years, you would open it and have
a whole
book written. You and I both know that is impossible. Well, that is
kind of
how there saying evolution happened. So he told me to pray about it
and I
did. I asked my dad if God would be angry if I asked him to send me
a sign.
My dad said God would not be angry, and that I might try that. So I
did. The
very next day i went to school and sat in the bleachers. I looked down
and
the girl sitting RIGHT in front of me was wearing a DcTalk shirt. The
shirt
said:"God is Here and He is Watching!" Like I said it easily could
have been
a coincedence, but I don't think it was. About a week later, my sister,
(she
is a diabetic.) Now diabetics have it hard, or some of them do... Anyways,
she has to take four shots a day, and get blood taken three times a
day!
Yeah, with needles. She is pretty brave. Me? You have to chase me around
the
room just to prick my finger. She has to have those four shots and
her
blood-sugar tested three times a day, or she could go into shock, or
even
worse... So basically she has to keep up with that bag. So one morning
we get
up to catch the bus and we are running very late. The bus came in about
five
minutes and my sister couldn't find her bag. I'm putting on my shoes
and she
is practically in tears because she just knows she left it at the restraunt
we ate at last night. So I pray to God to help here find her bag. All
of a
sudden I have this wierd feeling, like something was drawing me to
her
backpack. I called her and told her to look in her backpack. She told
me she
already looked in it, but I insisted that she look in her backpack.
She
did... and it turned out it was in her backpack. We caught the bus.
What was
so remarkable about that was that she said she had already looked in
it. Once
again, she easily could have overlooked it some how, but like I said,
I
believe everything happens for a reason.
It may not have been as remarkable
as a blind man able to see, or a
man raised from the dead. But it shows that God is still up there,
and he
