I've been doing a study on biblical translations going back to the first English Bible, which we commonly know as the King James Version. In 1611 A.D. King James I of England authorized this translation through a select committee of Greek and Hebrew scholars from the Church of England. Some had ties to the Puritans and later the Pilgrims who emigrated to America.
Textual criticism is an academic discipline which scholars studied existing Greek and Hebrew manuscripts. Prior to 1455 (the advent of the printing press) all copies of the Bible were hand copied by scribes. Original manuscripts were copied then burned. Today, there are virtually no copies of the earliest manuscripts used by the churches.
What was found in the latter half of the 19th century were two ancient manuscripts one at the foot of Mt. Sinai now known as Manuscript Aleph (Codex Sinaticus) and later one found in the library of the Vatican, now known as Manuscript B or Codex Vaticanus. Many scholars are perplexed that Manuscript Codex Vaticanus was found in the Vatican. Moreover Codex Sinaticus had been produced by scribes of the Alexandrian sect who held heretical views similar to today's Jehovah Witnesses.
Dr. B.F. Westcott and Dr. F.J.A. Hort representatives of a branch of the Church of England and friends of the Roman Catholic Church championed these two manuscripts. These two fundamentalists edited the Aleph and B manuscripts into one Greek text of the New Testament. In the last century it has been re-edited by Nestle, Aland, Metzger and others and now is referred to as the critical or eclectic text. Today virtually all modern translations and versions of the Bible has its roots in this critical text. Dr. Frank Logsdon the co-founder of the New American Standard Bible has since renounced any connection to this fact. Dr. Logsdon now claims that the Authorized Version (KJV) is absolutely 100% correct.

I prefer the King James
I prefer the King James Version. I don't mind other translations, but I like spending time in the KJV. I like the fact that I have to put forth effort in order to understand what God is saying to me. It makes me feel as if I'm "studying to shew myself approved." 1 Timothy 2:15. I love this version and the way it speaks to me through the Holy Spirit, it speaks power and a full meaning that I don't seem to get in other versions.
I am KJV - Preferred
I prefer the King James Bible, but I use other versions when I do studies. My problem with the other versions is all the scripture that is REMOVED and CHANGED that cause confusion and makes contradictions out of scripture. My other problem with the other versions is their lack of POWER. There is no conviction when they are read.

If you died tonight in your sleep, do you know where you will be spending eternity?
Has anybody ever taken a bible and showed you how you can know for sure you are going to heaven?
Can I?
The newest translation.
I have a self revising translation of the bible. Like one of the apostles said, all of nature declares the gospel. I don't think I can find a better one. Every day the sun comes up in the morning chases across the sky like a bridegoom after his bride I suggest studying this gospel to show yourself approved. Witness the joys of childhood and wonder at infinity. Feed the hungry, clothe the naked, heal the sick and shelter the homeless.
NIV vs. NASB
I have an NASB KJV by Nelson. It's about as accurate as I can find. Unaware of NIV I also bought a New Testament in NIV. While doing some studies I found a missing verse in NIV. This opened up a new door in life. I soon learned that NIV omits over 64,000 words from the original text. I promptly replaced it with a NASB that I carry now.
I found the quick test is simply look for key verses, like Matt 18:11. If it isn't there you have the wrong bible (NIV).
KJV has 500 deliberate
KJV has 500 deliberate changes?

First off I would like to list the verses that I have so far found TOTALLY OMITTED or BRACKETED in the NIV and NASB. (Bracketed is to say it should NOT be accepted as "of God") Then I would like to share quite a few verses that have been "re-written, altered, twisted, and cut up" in the NIV and NASB. The reason I am sharing the truth about the NIV and NASB and not all the other corrupted Bibles as well, is because these two appear to be the most popular today. There are others that are corrupted as well and I pray the Lord reveals this to those of you that trust these "Bogus Bibles."

MAR 15:28 And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors.
ALL the verses of Mark 16:9-20 are BRACKETED in the NASB. The NIV places a disclaimer stating... "The most reliable manuscripts and other ancient witnesses do not have Mark 16:9-20"

ROM 16:24 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [be] with you all. Amen.
The King James Version speaks of the Lord God Almighty in a way that glorifies HIM in His truth. Notice the following changes in the NIV and NASB that "alter" the name of the Almighty in a way that leads one astray and looking to another...
Read the KJV (in blue) then read the comment below it that shares what was changed or omitted by the other Bible's. Then, re-read the Bible verse with the change they made. You WILL see a pattern as you go through the verses.
ACTS 8:18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,
Both the NIV and NASB remove the "Holy Ghost" and replace it with "Spirit"
ACTS 17:29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.
The NIV changes "Godhead" to "Divine BEING"
The NASB changes "Godhead" to "Divine NATURE"
REV 1:11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send [it] unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.
Both the NIV and the NASB TOTALLY REMOVE "I am the Alpha and Omega" from their pages.
JOHN 4:42 And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard [him] ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.
The NIV removes "the Christ" and replaces it with the words, "this man"
The NASB removes "the Christ" and replaces it with "this One"
MAT 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? [there is] none good but one, [that is], God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
Both the NIV and NASB remove "God" and replace it with "One who is good"
JOS 22:22 The LORD God of gods, the LORD God of gods, he knoweth, and Israel he shall know; if [it be] in rebellion, or if in transgression against the LORD, (save us not this day,)
Both the NIV and NASB remove "The Lord God of gods" and replace it with "The mighty one"
1CO 16:22 If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha.
Both the NIV and NASB remove "Jesus Christ" and simply leave it "the Lord"
EXO 6:3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by [the name of] God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them. (all KJV verses will be in blue)
Both the NIV and NASB remove His name "Jehovah" and replace it with "The Lord"
2CO 5:18 And all things [are] of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
Both the NIV and the NASB remove the name JESUS and leave simply "Christ"
DNL 3:25 He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.
Both the NIV and NASB change it from "The Son of God" to "a son of the gods" Do you realize WHO is standing in this furnace? That's right, it was JESUS Himself.
JOHN 9:35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?
Both the NIV and the NASB change it from "the Son of God" to the "Son of Man" They even "capitalize the word, "Man"
MAT 1:25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.
Both the NIV and NASB remove the word "firstborn" from their version. Why? It allows for the "doctrine of devils" that proclaim Mary was a virgin forever and had no more children other than Jesus. "Firstborn" proves there will be more. I cover this in detail in my "FREE" book "The Second Window"
LUKE 2:33 And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him.
Both the NIV and NASB replace the name "Joseph" with "father." Why? Is this to place a "lower" value on Jesus Himself, making Him appear to be NOT the Son of God, but simply the son of Joseph? Would a inexperienced Christian see it this way?
LUKE 24:51,52 And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven. And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy:
The NIV removes "And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy:" from their version.
The NASB removes all of "and carried up into heaven. And they worshipped him," from their version
JOHN 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared [him].
The NIV removes "begotten Son" and replaces it with, "God the one and only"
The NASB remove "begotten Son" and replaces it with, "begotten God"
ROM 8:34 Who [is] he that condemneth? [It is] Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
The NASB replaces "It is Christ" with "Christ Jesus is he who died"
ACTS 14:15 And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein:
The NASB changes "the living God" to "a living God"
1JO 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
The NIV totally removes "in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." and then continues on with verse eight which speaks of earthly things making them appear as Heavenly.
The NASB totally removes the entire verse and relaces it with the bottom half of verse six, thereby splitting and altering verse six as well.
EPH 5:9 (For the fruit of the Spirit [is] in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)
Both the NIV and NASB change it from "fruit of the Spirit" to "fruit of the light" Why light? because 2Corinthians 11:14 says... "And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light."
REV 21:24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
Both the NIV and NASB omit the words, "them which are saved"
ROM 1:3 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;
Both the NIV and NASB replace "his Son Jesus Christ our Lord" with "his Son"
Can you see a "pattern" emerging yet? Do you see why certain words are being removed? Watch the next few verses. Notice how the "flesh" or "worldliness" is placed up front instead the Almighty, His Kingdom, and a Christian way of life.
REV 15:3 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous [are] thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true [are] thy ways, thou King of saints.
The NIV changes "King of the saints" to "King of the ages"
The NASB changes "King of the saints" to "King of the nations"
MAT 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen.
Both the NIV and NASB replace "endo of the world" with "end of the age" Why? The devil does NOT want anyone to believe that the World IS going to end.
MAR 10:21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.
The NIV removes "take up thy cross" and replaces it with "then come follow me"
The NASB simply puts, "come follow me"
2PET 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake [as they were] moved by the Holy Ghost.
Both the NIV and NASB remove the word "holy" and simply leave "men" making it appear as ANYONE can speak for God Almighty.
1PET 1:22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, [see that ye] love one another with a pure heart fervently:
Both the NIV and NASB remove the word "pure" and simply leave the word "heart" Why? "Blessed [are] the pure in heart: for they shall see God." Mat 5:8
2TIM 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
The NIV removes the word "perfect" and replaces it with "thoroughly equipped"
The NASB removes the word "perfect" and replaces it with the words "adeuate, equipped" Why? To make Jesus appear to NOT be "perfect" and therfore a "faulty" Saviour.
PRO 21:21 He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.
The NIV removes the word "righteousness" and replaces it with "prosperity" How blunt can you get? Prosperity is preached in almost ALL churches of today because of this lie. I know people who truly believe they are not blessed of God because they don't have "nice things." Yet the Word says in Mat 6:19,20 "Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:"
JER 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
The NIV replaces the word "peace" with the word "prosper"
The NASB replaces the word "peace" with the word "welfare." You see how it is preached that having materials things will give you "peace"?
1TIM 6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.
The NASB alters the verse to read... "godliness actually is a means of great gain"
HEB 3:6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.
Both the NIVand NASB replace the word "rejoicing" with the word "boast"
2CO 1:12 For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.
2CO 1:14 As also ye have acknowledged us in part, that we are your rejoicing, even as ye also [are] ours in the day of the Lord Jesus.
The NIV replaces the words, "rejoicing" and "your rejoicing" with the word "boast"
The NASB replaces the words "rejoice" and "your rejoicing" with the word "proud"
1TIM 1:4 Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: [so do].
The NIV totally omits the words "godly edifying"
The NASB replaces the words "godly edifying" with "furthering the administration"
Can you see how "mankind", "flesh" and "worldliness" is being glorified in these last few examples? Can you imagine a "babe in Christ" learning and "growing" from a Bible such as this? They will have an outlook that will be geared towards flesh, rather than the Spirit.
Now... look at the next few verses and see if you too don't see the NIV and NASB attempting to place mankind in a much higher state than then Word has actually placed us.
PSA 8:5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
The NASB changes the verse from, "a little lower than the angels" to "a little lower than God"
PHI 3:21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
The NIV replaces the words, "our vile body" with "our lowly bodies"
The NASB replaces "our vile body" with "our humble state"
LUKE 4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not llive by bread alone, but by every word of God.
Both the NIV and the NASB totally remove "but by every word of God"
Now for the issue of Salvation being in no one other than Jesus Christ. Notice how the following verses corrupt the message of salvation...
MARK 10:24 And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!
Both the NIV and the NASB remove the words... "for them that trust in riches" Why? Re-read the above verse WITHOUT those words and see what it appears to be saying then. Kind of makes it all appear hopeless now doesn't it? Pray for those "babes in Christ" that read this and feel genuine distress.
LUKE 21:19 In your patience possess ye your souls.
Both the NIV and NASB rewrite the verse to read "By your endurnace you will gain your lives"
PHI 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Both the NIV and NASB replaces the name "Christ" with the word "Him." the NIV doesn't even capitalize the word "Him"!
1TIM 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
Both the NIV and NASB replace "God" with "He"
ACTS 4:24 And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou [art] God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:
Both the NIV and NASB totally remove the phrase "thou art God" from the Bible.
MAT 8:29 And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?
Both the NIV and the NASB totally remove the name "Jesus." from this verse. Actually, the NIV removes the name Jesus from their version 38 times! The NASB removes the name "Jesus" 73 times!
REV 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
GAL 1:15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called [me] by his grace,
MAT 22:32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.
Both the NIV and NASB remove "God" from these verses and replace His name with the word, "He"
ACTS 22:16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.
Both the NIV and NASB remove "the name of the Lord" and replace it with "His name."
REV 14:1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty [and] four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.
Both the NIV and NASB "ADD" words to this verse. They change "having his Father's name written in their foreheads." with this to read "having his HIS NAME AND HIS Father's name written in their foreheads.
PHI 3:3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.
Both the NIV and NASB remove "God" from this verse in the context it is in.
The next three verses are an outright "rewrite" that totally changes the meaning of the Scripture involved. It is so blatantly evil that I am confused how people hold on to these Bibles at all.
ISA 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! [how] art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
The NIV removes "O Lucifer" and replaces it with "O morning star"
The NASB removes "O Lucifer" and replaces it with "O star of the morning." Why is this such a big deal? Because REV 22:16 plainly states that, "I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, [and] the bright and morning star." Jesus is the bright and morning star, NOT Lucifer!
ACTS 17:22 Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, [Ye] men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.
Both the NIV and NASB change the words "too superstitious" to "very religious"
COL 2:18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
Both the NIV and the NASB replace "not seen" with "has seen"
Pretty eye-opening isn't it? It is a sad thing when you think about all the ministers out there that were TAUGHT with these Bibles. It makes it easier to understand now why only 2% of all American student ministers believe in a second coming of Jesus now doesn't it? This was the results of a "Pittsburgh Press" poll taken on Sept 24, 1977. That's over 20 years ago people! These students are PASTOR'S, PREACHERS, AND MINISTERS RIGHT NOW ALL ACROSS THIS LAND!
Notice the following verses. See if you don't see a "different" message emerging from these alterations of man.
ROM 11:6 And if by grace, then [is it] no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if [it be] of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
Both the NIV and NASB remove the phrase "But if [it be] of works, then is it no more grace:" from this verse.
COL 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, [even] the forgiveness of sins:
Both the NIV and the NASB remove "through his blood" from this verse.
MARK 9:42 And whosoever shall offend one of [these] little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.
The NASB changes this verse from "believe in me" to "who believe"
JOHN 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
Both the NIV and NASB remove the words "on me"
ACTS 22:16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.
Both the NIV and NASB changed this verse to say "calling on his name"
ACTS 8:37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
The NIV TOTALLY removes this verse from their version. They even removed the number. It goes from verse 36 to 38. Some Bibles have gone so far as to split up either verse 36 or verse 38 to fill in for the missing verse 37. Why was this verse removed? They baptize babies in Catholicism and some other denominations. A baby cannot PROCLAIM that they "believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.", so, they remove the verse rather than change their doctrines and continue on baptizing infants even though an infant cannot do what the Word says is necessary for the reception of Baptism.
ROM 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Both the NIV and NASB remove "of Christ" from this verse.
GAL 6:15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.
Both the NIV and NASB remove "For in Christ Jesus" from this verse.
EPH 3:14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Both the NIV and NASB remove "of our Lord Jesus Christ"
EPH 3:9 And to make all [men] see what [is] the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:
Both the NIV and NASB remove "by Jesus Christ" from their version.
GAL 4:7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
Both the NIV and NASB remove "through Christ"
COL 1:2 To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace [be] unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Both the NIV and NASB remove "and the Lord Jesus Christ" from this verse.
Now for what they say about the Holy Spirit and Angel spirits:
PSA 104:4 Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:
Both the NIV and NASB rearrange this verse to read... "He makes the winds his messengers, Flaming fire His ministers" Why? Because EPH 2:2 reveals, "Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:" The "winds" as it were are the devil's domain! Need I comment on the twist of words apparent on "Flaming fire?"
HEB 1:7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.
Both the NIV and NASB change "Who maketh his angels spirits" to read "Who makes His angels winds"

Bible Scholar Loses Voice on the John Ankerberg TV Show
You can call it pure justice, a sign from God, or whatever you want, but eyebrows were sure raised recently during the tapings for Christian TV's The John Ankerberg Show.Ankerberg, a bitter opponent of the King James Bible, had wanted to do a series of TV programs in which the heads of the new version translation committees — the NIV, RSV, NASV, NKJV, etc.— would debate King James Bible advocates.
Afraid that the King James people would get the upper hand and win the debate, Ankerberg attempted to "stack the deck." He invited five new version scholars but only three King James advocates. Since Ankerberg is himself a fervent promoter of the NIV and other false versions, that made the odds six to three. But the three King James men — Dr. Joseph Chambers, Dr. Samuel Gipp, and Dr. Thomas Strouse, weren't deterred by the odds. They accepted John Ankerberg's invitation anyway so that they could get out their vital and important message — that the King James Bible is the only trustworthy, accurate, scholarly, and whole Bible available in the world!
The John Ankerberg programs are taped in advance in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and then shown later to a national TV audience. For the Bible version debate, eight shows were taped. However, on one of these shows, Ankerberg and the new Bible version people were forced to call an abrupt halt right in the midst of the taping.
It happened when Ankerberg asked Dr. Don Wilkins, of the New American Standard Version translation committee, a key question. Is it true, asked Ankerberg, as Gail Riplinger reported in her bestselling book, New Age Bible Versions, that a number of the scholars who worked on the new translation committees lost their voice as punishment by God?
As the TV cameras captured the moment, Dr. Wilkins opened his mouth to answer— and nothing came out! No sound! Wilkins kept trying to clear his throat, but he couldn't respond. Ankerberg and the other new version scholars were visibly startled. Finally, an embarrassed and frightened Wilkins was able to screech out in a cracking, almost inaudible manner, "I... I've... lost... my voice!"
A shocked John Ankerberg ordered the cameras to stop and back up, whereupon Dr. Joseph Chambers, a King James only advocate, politely protested. "The cameras should record exactly what happened here," Chambers insisted.
But Ankerberg was hearing none of it. After a brief delay, the TV cameras began to roll again, after the amazing segment of Dr. Wilkins losing his voice had conveniently been excised!
But our miraculous God wasn't through yet. Ankerberg had taped eight programs in all, but after broadcasting only two of them, he pulled the others off the air and refused to continue the series. When we called his office to ask why, we were pointedly told that it was because the series was a financial flop. When the first two of the eight programs aired, people did not send in enough contributions. In other words, Ankerberg claims that the series wasn't making enough money!
I watched one of the two programs that did air, however, and I believe there is another, quite different reason why Ankerberg and the false new version folks decided to pull the remainder. At one point, the new version "scholars" were clearly frustrated when Dr. Chambers asked them why, an astounding 46 times in the NIV, the title of "Master" for our Lord Jesus had been changed to "teacher!" Obviously, there is a vast difference between one who is our Master and one who is a mere "teacher."
Such poignant episodes as this make me doubt Ankerberg's rationale as to why he quickly jerked the remaining programs from the broadcast schedule. If, as he claims, Ankerberg pulled the series because he wasn't bringing in enough money, what does that tell us about his "ministry?" Is John Ankerberg in it only for the money? Is filthy lucre the sole measure for the programs he airs — or doesn't air? -FLASHPOINT: A Newsletter Ministry, October (Vol. 95-10) p.3
Bible Reading and Personal Outlook
Carol Eisenberg
November 10, 2001
For more than 1,000 years, the Bible has been the most widely read and circulated book in history, influencing the development of language, literature and culture.
Now, a Christian publishing house says it has scientific evidence that reading the Bible promotes a positive outlook.
According to a July study that the publisher commissioned from the Barna Research Group, an independent marketing research company in Southern California:
82 percent of regular Bible readers described themselves as "at peace," versus 58 percent of those who said they never read the Bible.
78 percent of regular Bible readers said they felt "happy" all or most of the time, versus 67 percent of nonreaders.
68 percent of regular Bible readers said they were "full of joy," versus 44 percent who said they never read the Bible.
The study was paid for by Tyndale House Publishers, a Carol Stream, Ill., company that sells Bibles as well as books related to Christian themes. "We had a reputable company do it," said spokeswoman Pamela Finch. "The results are absolutely credible."
Data supplied by Barna Research says the study was based on 1,004 television interviews conducted among a sample of adults selected to reflect the nation's regional and ethnic makeup, and had a sampling error of plus or minus three percentage points.
Particularly in the wake of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, Finch said the study suggests that Bible-reading should be a resource, no less than counseling or medication, in coping with anxiety and depression.
The study also found that 81 percent of regular Bible readers said they were satisfied with life in general, versus 63 percent of those who don't read the Bible. Ninety-four percent of regular Bible readers believe that life has a clear purpose and meaning, versus 76 percent of nonreaders. -Copyright (c) 2001, Newsday, Inc.

New Bible translation promotes fornication
Archbishop of Canterbury praises version for 'extraordinary power'

A brand-new translation of the Bible – praised by Britain's archbishop of Canterbury, that nation’s senior Christian voice – flatly contradicts traditional core Christian beliefs on sex and morality.
Titled "Good as New," the new Bible is translated by former Baptist minister John Henson for the "One" organization, to produce what the group calls a "new, fresh and adventurous" translation of the Christian scriptures.
Archbishop Rowan Williams
The 104th archbishop of Canterbury, Dr. Rowan Williams – leader of the Church of England – describes it is a book of "extraordinary power," but admitted many would be startled by its content.
"Instead of condemning fornicators, adulterers and 'abusers of themselves with mankind'," says Ruth Gledhill, the London Times religious affairs correspondent, "the new version of his first letter to Corinth has St. Paul advising Christians not to go without sex for too long in case they get 'frustrated.'"
"The new version, which Dr. Williams says he hopes will spread 'in epidemic profusion through religious and irreligious alike', turns St. Paul's strictures against fornication on their head," adds the Times.
The One organization that produced the new Bible translation is dedicated to "establish[ing] peace, justice, dignity and rights for all." It is also focused on "sustainable use of the earth's resources," challenging "oppression, injustice, exclusion and discrimination" as well as accepting "one another, valuing their diversity and experience."
According to Ekklesia, a London-based "theological think tank" that supports the "One" translation:
The translation is pioneering in its accessibility, and changes the original Greek and Hebrew nomenclature into modern nicknames. St. Peter becomes "Rocky," Mary Magdalene becomes "Maggie," Aaron becomes "Ron," Andronicus becomes "Andy" and Barabbas becomes "Barry."
In keeping with the times, translator Henson deftly translates "demon possession" as "mental illness" and "Son of Man," the expression Jesus frequently used to describe himself, as "the Complete Person." In addition, parables are rendered as "riddles," baptize is to "dip" in water, salvation becomes "healing" or "completeness" and Heaven becomes "the world beyond time and space."
Here's how Williams, the top Anglican archbishop, describes the new Bible: "Instead of being taken into a specialized religious frame of reference – as happens even with the most conscientious of formal modern translations – and being given a gospel addressed to specialized concerns … we have here a vehicle for thinking and worshipping that is fully earthed, recognizably about our humanity."
In addition, notes Ekklesia, the archbishop praises Henson's translation for eliminating "the stale, the technical, the unconsciously exclusive words and policies" in other translations.
Here, according to the London Times, are a few sample passages:
Mark 1:4
Authorized version: "John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins."
New: "John, nicknamed 'The Dipper,' was 'The Voice.' He was in the desert, inviting people to be dipped, to show they were determined to change their ways and wanted to be forgiven."
Mark 1:10-11
Authorized version: "And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him. And there came a voice from the heaven saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."
New: "As he was climbing up the bank again, the sun shone through a gap in the clouds. At the same time a pigeon flew down and perched on him. Jesus took this as a sign that God's spirit was with him. A voice from overhead was heard saying, 'That's my boy! You're doing fine!'"
Matthew 23:25
Authorized version: "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!"
New version: "Take a running jump, Holy Joes, humbugs!"
Matthew 26:69-70
Authorized version: "Now Peter sat without in the palace: and a damsel came unto him, saying, 'Thou also wast with Jesus of Galilee.' But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what thou sayest."
New: "Meanwhile Rocky was still sitting in the courtyard. A woman came up to him and said: 'Haven't I seen you with Jesus, the hero from Galilee?" Rocky shook his head and said: 'I don't know what the hell you're talking about!'"
1 Corinthians 7:1-2
KJV: "Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: [It is] good for a man not to touch a woman. Nevertheless, [to avoid] fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband."
New: "Some of you think the best way to cope with sex is for men and women to keep right away from each other. That is more likely to lead to sexual offences. My advice is for everyone to have a regular partner."
1 Corinthians 7:8-7
KJV: "I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I. But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn."
New: "If you know you have strong needs, get yourself a partner. Better than being frustrated."

There are a lot of interesting points raised here in your post, it would be better if each one had its own post.
I have seen an entire book devoted to errors in the NIV
There are so many SERIOUS errors in the NIV that you can fill a book with them. I have read parts of one such book.
As for this new translation, I'd say its a mockery of the Word of God. This Archbishop of Canterbury is clearly an enemy of the gospel. He wants to get the Anglicans to agree to accept homosexual priests and bishops if possible. You just look at his wishy washy "non-stance" on everything. I think he is a druid as well, but I haven't checked it out deeply. Irrespective of that, he is a diplomat, a politician, but not a man of God. No wonder he approves it. He probably thinks he is being "courageous", but it is really folly to mess with God's Word and approve the horribly corrupt renderings thereof.
Preferred Bible Version
I use the King James Version. Why? Because I like it.
Bibles i Read
When i am studying the Word i tend to use, KJV, NKJV & NLT.
Ive brought nearly all the different translations inc the amplified version.
I think it is better to use different versions of the bibles (or compare) the text when it comes to studying.
For back up and just to confirm that the bibles are saying the same thing.
I would advice everyone serious about getting deeper understanding about the Word of God to buy various different translations and compare the text. If something seems out of line Go back to KJV which i see as the main original.
But as a basic KJV.
God Bless u Guys
This is My Conclusion I made
After all My research i have realized one thing,God isnt man that he needs TOO Many versions of the bible in the same language WHICH SAYS DIFFERENT THING! Nay! For we read in 1cor 14:33"For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints".Theses Modern Versions have got an attack on FOUNDATIONS OF CHRISTIAN FAITH.They attack DEITY OF CHRIST,REMOVE BLOOD OF JESUS,MADE JESUS AND LUCIFER THE SAME.....They are contrary to above verse, for If all would have came from same source, they would have same scripture saying exactly the same meaning. So I have made My mind Never to read these perverted versions for if they have denied the deity of Christ, they aren't from him.I WILL NEVER USE THEM!
More points::
I don't use them for they use corrupt manuscript[codex vaticanus, codex sinaiticus and Alexandrian that omits some verses. you can use them as other fallible books but not as the Bible ]
By his stripes we were healed
Bibles I use
In studying the Word of GOD, I rely on my Students Bible NIV then also the New Living Translation for modern translation. I also consult the commentaries, dictionaries, and most of all meditation on the Word with the help of the Holy Spirit.
I Have found another enemy's Bible
Thanks Br. Michael for your good research.I use e-sword with strong number from http://www.e-sword.net.
I have found no other accurate Bible that fits KJV. I use Dictionaries to see original meaning of the word.Modern Versions are perveted.I cant believe them. They try to hide Deity of Christ. Its Just I cant Believe them.Im going on with my research.I found shocking news to users of bible spread by the gideons. You use their bible?read this

I like the NKJV
The New King James version is very close to the KJV,it changes a couple of words but is fairly close. I basically use both when studying God's Word and when I am at an point where I am confused about a word, I use a lexicon. The most important thing is that we are studying. But my greatest resource is the Holy Spirit, who gives knowledge and wisdom to all who ask.
In Jesus Name
NKJV
I agree, Bigdaddy. Thats great.
NKJV
Thanks
What Bible
I pesonally use many different translations. I don't typically use the KJV, although I may refer to it if I wish to have another translation. I use the Amplified version alot because it directly translates Greek/Hebrew to explanatory English words. What I mean by that is it will give many English words to explain what the Greek/Hebrew word means. I don't use the NIV much because I have found their have been some words and meanings left out of it. I also use the Stong's Greek/Hebrew Concordance to help me know what was actually originally meant in Greek/Hebrew. But, most importantly, I ask the Holy Spirit who Jesus sent to guide us in the truth. Without Him the words mean nothing. The Bible was spiritually written, and therefore, must be spiritually discerned.
Weaknesses in the KJV
You know the first English Bible was not the KJV. Before that was the Geneva Bible and also the Bishop's Bible. These were built on the work of John Wycliffe, who in 1380 translated the Scripture into English at great personal cost to himself. From what I have learned, King James and the bishops were not too happy with the Geneva Bible because it threatened to expose some of the errors in the Anglican church, and the incompleteness of the Reformation, so King James commissioned scholars to make the KJV, the authorized version. There were some strict guidelines in place, one of which was not to change the names of any of the New Testament ecclesiastical offices such as "bishops" and "deacons".
I don't think there is any perfect Bible translation into the English language. We can still know what God is saying through it, its just that sometimes we have to dig a little deeper into the original languages. Only the original texts in Hebrew/Greek as first written are perfect, and even then, you still need the help of the Holy Spirit and some understanding of the background to know what the true meaning is.
While the KJV at least avoids the Wescott/Hort text based on the Alexandrian and Vaticanus manuscripts, we have to remember that the King James version was commissioned by King James and overseen by Bishop Bancroft of the Church of England. These men had strong vested interests in hiding the meanings of certain words, the true plain understanding of which might have challenged the status quo as far as ecclesiastical organization and practice was concerned.
The typical approach was to transliterate words from the Greek rather than translate them. Thus 'episkopos' (literally overseer) became 'bishop', 'diaconai' (lit. servants) became deacons, 'baptizo', (to dip/immerse) became 'to baptize'. Perhaps the most damaging was to translate 'daimonizomai' as 'to be possessed with devils'. By just transliterating the words, the old traditional meanings of the words would be assumed, leaving the status quo intact of the ecclesiastical power base of the day.
The consequence of these mistranslations has been severe. It has resulted in unbiblical hierarchical church leadership models where leaders lord it over underlings and seek to be served by them, sprinkling of infants and total ignorance concerning the ministry of deliverance for Christians.
Sorry to have to say this, but even the KJV has its weaknesses as a translation.
I USE KJV ONLY!
Me i use only KJV,I have been client to NIV but i found it erronous, after all all new version have got changes to fit Modern language. So for serious error free studies i reccomend KJV

Reply to the bible
Personally i would use the KJV, as it provides more detail then the NIV. The NIV bible misses a lot of critical details. I also prefere the KJV becauee it is easy to understand.. so...

KJV only for me! I would
KJV only for me! I would never use any other. The KJV was good enough in Bible days, and it is good enough today. It is the true and ONLY inspired Word of God. I could keep going, but I don't want to start any arguements with all those who read and use the wrong versions.
YLT & KJV 1769
Lately I've been enjoying Young's Literal Translation, as a companion to my KJV. I have both the original 1611 and the 1769 revision of the KJV.
