The Harlot Church

There is plenty of evidence that the spirit of harlotry has gained a strong foothold and in some cases virtually taken over many of the leading denominations in the western world today, including sadly, many pentecostal/charismatic churches. This is tragic because the pentecostal church was entrusted with tremendous understanding of the plan of God for the believer's life. The church of the first century was pentecostal but even in Peter and John's day there were "false teachers among you" who make merchandise of God's people and exploit people for the sake of covetousness, following the error of Balaam.

Churches of all denominations as well as historic churches such as the Roman Catholic and Orthodox churches have of course embraced numerous compromises with the world system and followed the principles of satan to gain favor in this present age, but this has been going on for centuries in some cases.

The Bible refers to a great harlot in the book of revelation and the spirit of Babylon has also been at work in the churches.

This is an important new category in this site. My purpose is to warn you, as Jesus said, "Take heed that no one deceive you. Many will come in my name saying that I am the Christ and will deceive MANY" (Matthew 24:4,5)

Where are the many Christians who are being deceived according to the prophecy of Jesus? Could it be happening now?

2Th 2:3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition,
2Th 2:4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

Don't expect the rapture until the falling away comes first.

Its in the temple of God, which is the church (1 Corinthians 3:17) that this antichrist shall take a place of pre-eminence. The spirit of antichrist was at work already in the time of the apostles and now it is manifesting itself more freely.

Brian Houston of Hillsong praises Pope and Papacy

Brian Houston is the senior pastor of the Australian mega-church Hillsong, and the National President of the Assemblies of God in Australia. His Hillsong Conferences attract now something in excess of 25,000 people annually - many of them church leaders from around Australia and the world. Its probably way more than 25,000 by now. The music of Hillsong is extremely popular worldwide and sung by Christians everywhere. And now, Brian Houston has been praising the papacy as an institution "which is marked by a commitment to seeing the Christian message continue to go forward and people changed by the power and truth of the Gospel" Thousands of churches seek to emulate the methods, principles and "spirit" of Hillsong in order to be like them and get the same kind of results that they do. So when Brian Houston gives a press release, we should take notice. Brian Houston is a very important and influential person in the Body of Christ, and we can't simply ignore his statements as being representative of a lunatic fringe.

Brian Houston believes that people should follow his leadership and submit to the authority of the denomination he leads. But where exactly is he leading people, in terms of their understanding of what the gospel of Jesus Christ actually is? Read more...
