False Prophets

Jesus himself warned us to beware of false prophets (Matthew 7:15). In Matthew 24:11 he says concerning the last days:

"Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many."

And in verse 24:

"For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect."

Now I am not always right. I am happy to admit this. However, I feel it is important for us to be free in the light of Jesus' words to evaluate the claims of modern day prophets and see if their lives, their teachings and their prophecies line up with the Spirit of Truth. If not, or if its uncertain, BE CAREFUL. You can lose your soul following a false prophet or a false teacher. MANY will be deceived or Jesus was wrong. And people who are deceived do not think they are deceived. They always believe they are right.

How People Become False Prophets

Jesus told us to watch out for false prophets. If they were powerless to deceive born again Christians, I don't think Jesus would have told us to "take heed". In this article, I show how true Christians can become false prophets. The Bible clearly shows that there are men who start off hearing and obeying the LORD God, who end up as soothsayers and destroyers of God's people. The New Testament warns us in 2 Peter 2 and the Book of Jude to watch out for arrogant, money loving preachers. Paul warned us against the times when people would heap up teachers who tell them what their itching ears want to hear. You won't hear too many expositions of these passages on Christian TV today. What a pity, they were never more needed.

Your Money Perish with you!

Simon was a sorcerer who had impressed the people of Samaria with his occultic powers for a long time. But when he heard the gospel and saw the power of God moving through Philip the evangelist - especially in miraculous healing and deliverance from evil spirits, he believed and was baptized. I wish the story had ended there concerning this man, but it does not.

Why I don't trust the Todd Bentley Lakeland phenomenon

Dear friends in Christ,

Even before the Lakeland phenomenon broke out, I heard a report about Todd Bentley's meetings on the Gold Coast that dismayed me somewhat. It had to do with the way he raises money, by telling people that they should "sow" money into his anointing so that they can receive an impartation of it.

A Watchman/Prophetic Ministry worth Hearing

In my view, many of the big-name ministries of today's pentecostal/charismatic world have now entered into deception. The love of money has corrupted them.

The sin of Balaam is to seek to prophesy and trade in spiritual things for FINANCIAL REWARD. If its not obvious to you that the majority of television preachers/prophets today on the major networks are doing just that, then I submit to you that you need to WAKE UP.

False prophecies about the Australian election

Our God cares for the poor and oppressed, those crying out in pain who have been forsaken by all. Now God is rebuking all the Christian false prophets who have identified God with the rich, the affluent, the proud, the strong, the indifferent, and the unfeeling power brokers of this world.

The Circuit Rider vs the Televangelist

Michael Edds contrasts the attitudes, lifestyle and pretensions of a modern televangelist with a pioneering Methodist missionary from a former century. Which one is demonstrating Christ more, do you think?

Billy Graham thinks fundamentalists are intolerant, praises the pope

Here is a video from Godtube showing the Rev. Billy Graham's attitude towards the Roman Catholic church. ho has ever been used by God in a great way, or hopes to be.

Did Benny Hinn give false prophecies?

We like to believe in our christian heroes, especially those who seem to be so much more anointed than your average Christian. But with greater exposure comes greater accountability. The ability to raise funds and buy lots of TV time does not constitute God's endorsement. If raising money was proof of God's favour, then the Roman Catholics, the Mormons and the various gurus like Sathya Sai Baba would clearly have God's favour even more than the most "anointed" televangelist.

Choo Thomas - Heaven is so real

I just finished watching a video of this Choo Thomas talking about "Heaven is so Real". I am a pentecostal and believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit and have witnessed many powerful manifestations of God, but in my view, these revelations are not of God.

Its not that I believe that its impossible for a believer to visit heaven or hell in this life. I believe its happened in some cases and I've even helped publicise such accounts.  read more »

Delivered from Mormon Deception

Michael, thank you for your insight on whether or not Christians can have demons. I appreciate that there are Christians who will take my experience at face value rather than wondering if I was truly a Christian when this devil entered me. I know there is great controversy on this subject among Christian scholars but for those of us who have experienced deliverance, there is no question as to whether or not a Christian can have a demon. I was not possessed, I had full control of my decisions, but this thing was a real being, inside of me:
