End Times, Bible Prophecy and Eschatology

This is a vast subject, and many interpretations exist on different issues. It is desirable that we avoid deceptions - anything that keeps us feeling safe in sin is a deception.

This section of the site deals with issues relating to the end times, the last days, the things which God has revealed must take place.

Many dogmatically proclaim that they know what the difficult passages in the Bible about end times mean. They are often hard to understand. We know in part, as the Scripture says.

The humble person is the one who will consider viewpoints and information that they have not considered until now. All we can do is present our understanding as best we can, trusting God to guide our thinking.

Right views on the return of Christ and end times are not required for salvation. Holiness and faith are. Never get so engrossed in these matters that you neglect to live a holy life. Being right about end times is no substitute for successfully doing the will of God.

Why I don't trust the Todd Bentley Lakeland phenomenon

Dear friends in Christ,

Even before the Lakeland phenomenon broke out, I heard a report about Todd Bentley's meetings on the Gold Coast that dismayed me somewhat. It had to do with the way he raises money, by telling people that they should "sow" money into his anointing so that they can receive an impartation of it.

Why I Believe we are now in the Final Generation before Christ's Return

I believe Jesus Christ will return some time in the next 30 years at the latest. I DON'T believe this simply because there is a great increase in occultic activity (which there is), or because governments are stripping away the civil liberties of people in the name of fighting terrorism (which they are), or because Satan is trying to unify the nations under one global empire (which he is).

Is the Bible all really easy to understand?

From time to time you will hear a preacher get up and say something like, "Actually the Bible is really easy to understand. Even a child can understand it. Its simple - we just make it complicated with our various theologies".

This sounds good, and might encourage some to read the Bible - which would be a good thing, but there are a couple of important things we should observe.

Firstly, we need the Holy Spirit's help to understand God's message to us. Natural reasoning alone will certainly not give us the correct understanding.

Christian, be ready!

Jesus said:

"Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into.

"Therefor you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour do you not expect". (Matthew 24:42-44)
